A college quarterback who had two mediocre seasons followed by a great senior season that ended up being drafted? The reason I ask is because of JJ. Say he finally clicks under the tutelage of Kragthorpe and leads the team to an NC. Nobody here would say JJ is going to be seen on Sundays right now but if he wins an NC could views change? Or would it just be viewed that he was a mediocre QB who had a super talented team surrounding him his senior season? I'm rooting for the kid and hope he turns it around.
Running qb's are not as prized in the NFL as in college. Look at scam newton. He ran all over everyone last year. He won the heisman. He won the natchampionship. He is not going to be picked in the top five. Jj would be seen as a running qb in the pros. NFL teams want a drew brees or a Payton manning. Running qb's are the rare exception because the defenses are too fast and injuries to your starting qb usually will cost a team the season.
ed zachary..... been saying Jefferson reminds me of him for a minute now. Lets hope he has a similar senior season.
Physical ability has never been Jefferson's problem. Decision making and a killer instinct are what he has been lacking. If he improves this year it will be because of an attitude shift. The Matts were mentioned earlier. Both of those guys always walked to the huddle with the attitude of a winner. That is why they won.
He had a different offensive coordinator pretty much every year he played but he finally got the right one his senior season. Let's hope it's the same for Jordan
