Has there been any real talk in BR about coaching changes?

I've seen a lot of people mention this. The opposite is actually true. This was in the works for quite some time, well over a month. You don't shake things up BEFORE you sign a class. There was ZERO offensive prospects that we had any competition for (Spears is the only offensive prospect we got or even tried to get right before NSD) that would've budged. We were done on that side of the ball, and we lost zero recruits. You don't chance losing a guy that had a great relationship built up with the CURRENT offensive staff by making a move in JANUARY. Just isn't the way it works. This was handled brilliantly.

Thats a good point. I rely on the recruiting forum for 99% of my recruiting info, so bow to those who follow Tiger recruiting more closely. My thinking was more along the lines of Cameron's potential to attract some last minute star recruits who weren't even considering LSU but might think that with Cameron on board their chances of reaching the NFL have now improved if they went to LSU. I'd say LSU is already an elite destination for defensive players, but for offensive players, its not so clear cut.

A quote from the link "A lot of coaches wonder if the speculation about Cam Cameron joining the LSU staff as offensive coordinator is legit. From what I here, it is."

After seeing this guys spelling proficiency I alas have to curb my hopes and relegate this back to rumor status from some guy posting out of his mom's basement.

Wow, this is great. How sure are you that he's coming? Spread the news. Choosing between Payton and Cameron is going to be tough for Lesticles.

I wonder if one of the questions asked in the job interview was, "How would you have utilized Russell Shepard the last four years at LSU ??"

Jesus if our offense doesn't improve with Cameron and Kragthorpe together something is terribly wrong. What other college can boast about a staff like this?

CB on defense is the best answer in hindsight...but at the time Chavis was arguing for Shep to play CB, who would have foreseen Shep had a learning disability when it came to catching the football?

I saw Shep play in high school many times, his brother Nick played DB and was a good player. Shep may get a shot in a Pro camp, he'd be a great gunner on special teams, remember Danny McCray, he started out this way with the Cowboys and is still playing.

And Danny has done a magnificent job on special teams for the cowboys. I thought Shepard played his best football covering kickoffs.
