And highly compensated for that. EVERY ONE of us here would exchange our financial position for his. Stop whining and start enjoying.

This is an ENTERTAINMENT industry, and Miles's product was anything but. The man is very well liked, very well respected, and very well off. We should all be so lucky.

I said the same thing as Tap is saying...until this weekend. Ole Miss might not have a great record, but their schedule has been brutal. That's a good football team. Obviously a huge step up in 2 weeks, but you have to give Coach O credit. They have gotten stuff out of LSUs offense that many of us didn't think was possible.

He's a Les lover. He supported Les and took up for him and now that he sees everyone that was bashing Les was right he can't accept it.

We'd be undefeated going into this game with UA if O started the season as coach. Instead they let Les ruin another season before dumping him.

This is just a stupid thread. Can you read? It's got nothing to do with him being an offensive genius. If these changes were made at the beginning, we are undefeated right now.

No one is saying that Oeaux is an offensive genius. The fact is LSU is looking more versatile than it has in YEARS. LSU is looking efficient for the first time in a while. So yes, people are excited. What Oeaux is doing is getting out the way of his OC. We have not witnessed this type of versatility and unpredictablity at LSU since probably '07.

@TigerTap please stop this. You're only destroying your credibility and damaging the spirit of the board. Much like you I liked, supported and defended Les from the beginning though the 2014 season. While devastated by the Jan 2012 game I didn't put all the blame on Les. LSU was put in a no win situation. Kudos to Saban for breaking form and letting his offense go. That was something only 1 or 2 of the greatest coaches have been able to do. Second the game's outcome was really determined by the dominance of the gump D line over our oline. Finally the whole set up screwed us. Alabama had a chip on their shoulders and it is impossible to believe we could match their intensity. Remember the 1960 Sugar Bowl. We had beaten Ole Miss in the famous Halloween game and the smashed Billy Cannon et al 21-0 in the rematch.

After 2013 it became obvious that to succeed at the championships level teams needed more diverse offense. Yes superior line play and defense were/are still premium but current rules put too much pressure on the defense not to expect scoring at high rates.
It also became more and more obvious that Les was either incapable of or too stubborn to change. He promised over and over but nothing changed. By last year I had had enough and believed it time for him to go. My reseveration was that Aleva and the BOS would make the choice of the next HC. My fears were proven by the way they botched things last Nov.
However the first two games showed Les to have not changed a thing. Putting Etling in was arranging deck chairs on the Titanic. As painful as it was Les needed to go. IMO the results since are evidence it was the correct decision.
Where LSU goes from here is everybody's guess. I have no more faith in Aleva than I did in November. Frankly hiring ANY coach is a roll of the dice. I like O but not sold. It's obvious that he's learned a lot from his OM tenure. Does that mean he can lead a program long term? Who knows. Herman is a shot in the dark as well....too little tape to get a feel. Peterson will never come here as lifestyle and other values seem more important than $. Jimbo is interesting as his move could be a shot at growth in his game.
You couldn't pay me to accept Briles or Petrino. Both are slime and cowards for not taking responsibility for their actions or what happened under their leadership.
Tap why don't you follow Les's example and hope for the best and support the team and O? Let the year play out then we will have a better idea. Don't fall into the minion trap and let anger and hate rule. Prove you're better than they are.

I'm crediting Oeaux for the changes we've seen since he has taken over for Miles. The offense isn't stagnant and predictable like we were. We see a staff making adjustments. Your argument against Oeaux is actually more of an indictment against Miles. Miles put the staff together but were handcuffed. Look at how many more players are now seeing the field, it's not just the play calling.

Yes, the DL has been playing better since the arrival of Jenkins, but so has the whole team. Therefore I can't see that as a symptom of Jenkins being so much of a better DL coach than Oeaux.

I know you love Miles. I actually like him a lot as well. I appreciate everything he did for LSU but it was time to let him go. Oeaux still has to prove himself the next few games but he has given us hope again.
