The charge is correct. The law was broken thus it should be enforced.

Whatever it is, I'm pretty sure it's already happened.

I don't believe there would have been any charges, certainly not felony charges, if no vertebral fractures had taken place. The broken neck due to being kicked while on the ground was the thing the cops couldn't let slide. If jj is innocent he should get paid. He should file civil suits aginst everyone that slandered him, media included. I heard jj stomped the guy with the broken neck reported as fact.

We've heard all sorts of things, and facts are not evident yet. People are running with an accusation like it has to be true.

What does "reported as fact" mean? You heard it on the internet? Also the police never used the provocative term "broken neck" which connotes spinal cord damage. Cracked vertebrae can range from serious to minor but don't mean spinal damage. My mom had cracked neck vertebrae as a result of degenerating discs although she suffered no neck trauma at all. All four alleged victims were treated and released for "minor injuries."

He may very well have several defamation cases if proven innocent. Slander against people and disk jockeys accusing him publicly of a crime and libel against the various newspapers which have published the same.

I've been an LEO (not with BRPD) for several years now. I understand they didn't want to give the players any special treatment but they did just the opposite and treated a bar brawl like a homicide.

I've worked several bar brawls over the years. When someone gets knocked out, a tooth gets knocked out(or even chipped), or a broken nose- it's all second degree battery. The majority of those cases are just written up and filed. Most of the time it's hard to make an arrest because all the witnesses are either drunk, biased or both. And of course the ones who aren't doesn't want to get involved and/or doesn't know any names.

We talked about the DNA swab and the search warrant in a shift meeting the next day. No one could believe that they went this far with it. We have never heard of doing a search warrant or DNA swab for a bar fight. I really don't blame BRPD though. White said "We wouldn't be doing this investigating if someone didn't want us to" told me that they wanted to treat it like a regular bar brawl but had to take it further because it's a high profile case and someone wanted them to investigate it as best and as much as they could. I have some BRPD friends who didn't know where the pressure came from (or wasn't allowed to say)and said that they are embarrassed and upset with this mess. (of course they won't admit that in front of White, he he)

anyway, enough about that, back to football, ONE MORE WEEK!!!!
