Why do i ask this fellow lsu fans? well correct me if im wrong here ok? heres a young man who has a good track record of being here at lsu for 4 yrs now and in spite of yrs of abuse from fans on radio talk shows and the like on how -hitty of a qb he was and continued to be a leader of his team until the night in question. he was also a good citizen of the lsu community as he has attended lsu and maintained a good enough academic record to be on track to graduate.(i dont know his major or grades but they clearly were up to required standards). enter andrew lowery (and friends) into the picture. from what ive gathered (correct me if im wrong anytime readers)mr lowery is a marine with a track record of abuse towards women. and a history of getting into trouble correct?(was he kicked out of shadys at anytime prior to this fight?)who started this fight? by all accounts mr lowery did! because jj is 6-5 and 240lbs it didnt take long for him to do significant damage to his opponent! not to mention major college fb players have so much natural physical power and stamina that average bar joes who are liquored up dont realize they might as well go pinch the grizzly in his -ss as well! they will get the same result! didnt investigators take jjs history on campus into account? did they assume that witnesses were telling the truth considering half the student body out there would LOVE NOTHING MORE THAN TO SEE JJ REMOVED IN FAVOR OF MR METTENBERGER AT QB!why is lowery not being charged here for drunk and disorderly conduct? im sure he said something? even major media types in baton rouge are saying bar employees saw him throw the first punch! hmmmm? what would people on this blog do? if someone tags you in the face and you see the little light flash? your gonna start swinging until the dude who hit you is on the ground and even then you may not stop!! this whole thing reaks of bs!!! now correct me if im wrong! id really like to know what im missing here.

The BRPD is not treating Jefferson unfairly, they just seem to be handling this case incompetently. It is being noticed. The Chief and the DA are both trying to wash their hands of this and get it into the hands of a grand jury, whom they can blame for whatever happens next. The Chief needs to prove that he is more competent than the last guy, who let crime get out of control in this city. This incident is not helping him. The DA has been a good one so far, I think, but he's an elected official and this may haunt him next election day.

    No,

What other police department would invest the time and resources necessary to perform a search of his apartment and DNA test over a bar fight? Normally, this type of focus is only giving to rape and murder.

Also, I love the fans of other program’s attitude. He was in a fight at a bar, so he is a thug. Normally, we use that term for athletes accused of drug use, carrying or using guns, domestic battery, rape, etc.

Should he have merely taken the punch and walked away. May be, but guys who play football, the sport we all love, normally do not. They do the same thing we love on the football field, whip their opponent into submission.

    Give the kid a break

I'd say that he's been treated more than fairly by police. Usually when police ant someone for questioning, he doesn't get almost a week to get his story straight...

Now, by fans? That's another matter...

The BRPD has been as fair as they can. The victims' attorney got out front first, which started the ball rolling in the media.

We seem to be spending a lot of time on this Lowry guy, when it easily could be one of the seriously injured who is pressing charges.... one was knocked unconcious and another has three broken vertibrae.

Usually a fight is just a fight.... until serious injuries occur.

    my two cents....
