Definitely going to do something, anything, about the DC situation? I ask because of the Advocate article. They talk as if it's been announced that CLM is definitely going to replace Peveto and Mallory...

I know that it is obvious we have a problem with the defense, but I haven't heard CLM comment that he was going to clean house. Just wondering if I missed anything.

Nope no definate word from him, but then look at his game interviews... he speaks in more riddles then the riddler did to batman.
But unless he's completely oblivious to whats happened this year... he has no choice. He's been out of town, but imo it's only a matter of time.

    I don't think so.

Thats how bad it is. It's so glaringly obvious it almost goes without saying.

I can't even fathom the possibility that a new DC isn't brought in. It would be suicide for Miles.

It took him forever to announce Malleveto. The process of getting rid of them and bringing in someone new is likely to take every bit as long.

Which brings up an interesting point: does he let Malleveto coach the bowl game (in effect, all but conceding the game), or does he bring somebody in beforehand to try to install a rudimentary base defensive scheme for the bowl game? Would that option actually be any better if the players don't grasp the new scheme in time?

Really just teaching the fundamentals for the next month and teaching our guys to retackle is a step above what we've done this year.

Mike Scarborough from Tiger Bait said yesterday night on the raido that Miles has contacted Chavis' agent, but thats as far as he knew.

Well, that is something, at least. I just keep reading all of these DC threads and was getting hopeful.

I think as someone has already posted, perhaps some of these guys get
other jobs before he has to do something with them.

i say he brings in a new dc. after one of the games (i dont remember which one) miles said something to the effect of if things didnt change, they would change. reading between the lines meaning new dc.

but it takes time. even after contacting someone, details and cotracts have to be worked out. and if he just told the other two (soon to be ex-dc's) they need to be given time to exit "politely".

just because we are chomping at the bit doesnt mean it isnt in the works, or that any announcements CAN happen immediately.

Well that's fine, but he needs to let them know to start looking and take whats available, and reiterate their not coming back for the 09' season... and start doing what he needs to find their replacements asap. He waits too long and he may very well be stuck with these guys.
