Has any organization ever had to apologize for a sitting President?

I'm generally curious if this has ever happened before. The Boy Scouts apologized for Estupido de Naranja and his speech he made to the Boy Scouts. Has this ever happened in the history of this country? Does anyone else know of an instance where this haopened?

I don't know the answer to that question but then again we've never before elected a President who was completely outside the spectrum of politics.

Boy Scouts of America is in a precarious position here. The President of the United States is considered the honorary president of their organization and sitting presidents have been invited to speak at the National Jamboree since 1937.

It's obviously a volunteer organization that relies on the hard work of Scouts, fundraising, and new Scouts joining every year. A speech like Trump's puts all of that in jeopardy.

That said, what has happened since then has been at times misrepresented in the media. The Scouts have been attacked and criticized when in fact they were a captive audience and only select parts of Trump's speech have been discussed. These boys have been referred to as Nazi youth.

I completely condemn several of the comments that Trump made during the speech and felt they were completely inappropriate for the audience. I don't however have a problem with him pointing out that President Obama was invited to the National Jamboree that was celebrating the 100th anniversary of Scouting and yet he did not show up and instead sent a video. The place where the National Jamboree is held is in West Virginia and was hardly a long-distance trek for Obama. I don't recall anyone on this board talking about how Obama was the first one since 1937 to buck the tradition of showing up at the National Jamboree. And frankly the only reason he didn't was political pandering. He didn't want to upset the gays and the feminists.

All politics aside, Trump's speech was wildly inappropriate given the audience. I will even give a nod to USC because Obama did dial it in, literally, and that was wrong as well. The Boy Scouts of America should never be politicized one way or the other.

Well, let me wipe the brown off my nose. Ah, that's better.

In the pantheon of Trump gaffes this so called speech is up there with the worst of them. There were remarks enough to offend everyone and wildly inappropriate comments for young people.

I have heard this speech compared to a speech Hitler gave to the Hitler Youth. Oh if we could have been so lucky. If that were the case Hitler would have been dismissed as a laughing stock and millions of lives would have been saved.

Does anyone know if this has ever happened before or is it unprecedented?

Maybe we should come with a new word for Trump. Unpresidented.

Like I already mentioned, since the process first started in 1937 where sitting presidents attended the national Jamboree, Obama was the first one to skip the event. Sending a video when it was the year celebrating 100 Years of scouting was pathetic. And he did it for purely political reasons. Did you get upset about that? If not then don't complain about Trump being Trump. The Scouts have skin to lose in it. Why does it matter to you?

I didn't mean just the Boy Scouts. I meant any organization. Has there ever been a time in history where any organization had to make a public apology for a speech the POTUS made. I find it telling that we basically elected a social media troll for president. And to answer the other question, why would it upset me that Obama skipped a speech? It doesn't upset me Obama skipped it, doesn't upset me that Trump got up there and made himself look like the giant pompous New York douchebag fucknugget he is. I just can't recall a time in history where any organization has done something like this.

The staff member who wrote the speech should be fired.
The staff members who approved the speech should be fired.
Don't hold your breath waiting or either to happen.
