Lee was a far cry from "insert superstar qb here" but I think he gets a bad rap for many of those pick 6's. Quite a few of them were in the middle of the field on the other side of the 40. Someone should tackle.

So he did more in the 2nd half in bryant denny than he did in new orleans the whole game, and only did so because Saban didnt gameplan for him.

I'm not defending JJ, i'm saying don't let time let you for get that JL wasn't that great either... LSU loses to bama if JJ didn't play in '10 and '11 (regular season)...

Neither one of them were worth a squirrel fart, Lee was a better passer Jefferson a better runner.

Sorry, I remember JJ getting hurt on 2nd down, which is why Lee went in.

I don't think that's how it went, maybe I'm wrong...Jefferson threw a TD pass in the 3rd quarter to Randle that was his first TD pass since the first game of the season vs UNC, which is pathetic in it's own right. LSU took a 24-14 lead and McElroy hooked up Who?Lio for a TD to make it 24-21, Jefferson stalled out and it brought up a 3rd and 12 or 3rd and something long, and there was no way we could give the ball back, so Lee was brought in and hooks up with 2 for about a 50 yard connection stepping up in the pocket.

I'm not one clamoring for either QB to get a start. I really don't care who starts. At this point in development, I think it is irrelevant. However, I believe the future lies with Brandon Harris, he has tremendous upside. That's not a knock on AJ. I'm pulling for AJ everytime he is on the field, but in order to get BH "ready" he needs some meaningful playing time. It's been repeated here in this thread that neither QB has separated himself from the other which begs the question, "Why is one getting significant playing time over the other". We aren't going to win the West this year. We aren't going to a major bowl. So it would appear prudent to prepare your QB of the future for next year.

I"m not buying the line that BH will get his chance, they are just waiting for him to season. This really does seem eerily familiar in regards to the JJ/JL fiasco. Harris got the start at Auburn because Miles had no choice. The fan base demanded it. Because it didn't go well, Harris is now paying the price. Past precedent has shown that AJ is Miles' QB and Harris will not get any meaningful playing time unless AJ gets hurt. He may get one series a half or mop up duty where he hands the ball off, but glancing at our schedule I think we'll see a repeat of this past week where Miles claims to have wanted to play Harris but couldn't find a good opportunity. It's not like AJ is tearing it up. He did enough not to lose last week which seems to be our new philosophy. I saw plenty of opportunities to play Harris. Again, I'm not bashing AJ or calling for him to be benched. I'm just praying that Miles' will overcome his tendency to be stubborn and give both QBs and equal chance until one proves he is THE man. Harris can't learn sitting on the bench. Last year, AJ couldn't get in a game until the last series where they let him hand the ball off. We see how that turned out. Let 'em both play and stop with the excuses.

Either way, it palyed out the same. Miles used his trump card during the regular season game and had nothing left to play in the NC game. It is like replaying a bourre hand and wondering how you could have one the pot.

That's the way it works. Harris got his shot with Auburn because he played well against New Mexico State, but he blew it. Putting him back in with a gimpy ankle in another hostile road game would have been doing him no favors. Remember how Lee's confidence was shattered by being forced to play before he was ready? Les doesn't want that to happen to Harris. We'll see Harris play tomorrow in Tiger Stadium in front of a friendly crowd. He'll get more playing time as he earns it. But so will Jennings. And they will get less time as they earn that, as well.
