Things that he seemed very comfortable and effective with in limited duty last year. Wonder why it went extinct

i only say that because of the pass plays they run. They ran more, true, but they looked like the same 3 plays. I'll have to go back and look but it doesn't seem like there is a bevy of pass plays they are willing to run. In their defense, maybe it's because we can't pass block. Maybe it's because of the youth everywhere. I'm not sure. All I know is that at some point this season Brandon Harris is going to have to win a football game with his arm. Is anyone confident LSU can win a game while trailing late and having to throw? Is anyone confident that LSU can win a game if the run gets stuffed? I think these are legitimate concerns. I'm not really panicked like I was a year ago, because Harris has shown that he has upside. But he has to be able to do these things in the games to get comfortable.

This is alarming. I was hoping it would get better but I'm not sure if it isn't getting worse as the year goes on.

Harris gets sacked because he hasn't learned to step up in the pocket to avoid the rush and buy himself more time.

Part of it is on Harris because he has to see his reads much quicker. He can't hold on to the ball as long as he does. That said, the OL was horrific yesterday. The pass blocking was very mediocre. Harris never had a great pocket to step up into.

And part of it is even when Syracuse started getting pressure they kept having him take 5 step drops or set up deep in the shotgun and throw deep or intermediate instead of 3 step drops and quick passes.

I don't buy this. From what I have seen he hasn't had a pocket to step into, the damn thing has just collapsed like house of cards.

On that point, it is one of the most crucial components of an effective quarterback and you either have it or you dont. It absolutely cannot be taught. Ben Rothlesberger is one of the best to just know when to move.

We don't really know yet with Harris

I don't think Harris is on a leash nor being protected. I also do not think he feels like a mistake will send him to the bench, for goodness sake he has takeen every snap this season. 21 pass plays called at least this game is a pretty good amount when your rushing O is doing so well.
