Trevor Mattich just gave a devastating critique of Les's coaching. He said the difference between great coaches, Saban, Urban, Harbaugh and the rest is they know how to get the most out of their players. He said they could develop them so they were conditioned and prepared and made fewer critical mistakes.
He said last week just about every play had a mistake, linemen blowing assignments so either LF was hit in the backfield or Harris was rushed. He also said when Harris was given time to pass he missed throwing to the correct receiver or just missed the throw, etc, etc, etc.
Basically Les and the staff don't have good skills at developing players. When so much is screwed up even superior talent can't overcome it.
Les has lost whatever spark and I think is going through the motions (whether he knows it or not). I hoped he would figure it out after 2013 but it's obvious he is blind to the problem and can't change. I hate the comparison to Charly Mac but it's too close not to see. He needs to go and the more I think of it, it should be before the season is over.

chavis kept this boat afloat for a long time which hid a lot of les' issues. yet the fans didnt realize it and shit all over him on his way out. hes still probably the best dc in the conference behind saban.

but this mattich fella is a part of the national media that was shaming the lsu fans for wanting les out just a few months back telling us how stupid we were and we'd rue the day we fired miles.

this is very much like the sunshine pumpers who had an overnight epiphany 3 yrs too late. so now its ok to get rid of him. bc the slow learners caught up.

Poor Les does so many things to damn near perfection and is just plain miserable at just a couple. If he would just step completely away from the offense and turn it over to someone that actually understands offense, he would be one of the best coaches of all time. Unfortunately he will not do that and will end up as the JaMarcus Russell of coaching, so much potential, but no cigar.

You can't blame a kid who is proving to be completely incapable for being here much less being on the field. BH didn't show up one morning on the 30 yard line like a mushroom. He was evaluated and recruited as being capable . Here's an idea - don't recruit a qb who is a dumb ass.
Of course to avoid doing that your coach can not be a dumb ass ..... AND we're back.

Yes, yes, yes! These days you have to dumb everything down for the slow learners, it's the politically correct thing to do.

Sorry got to disagree with this. How many times did we lose to the gumps alone b/c of third and chavis. Now is he a mid tier dc yea I'll give you that and did he keep us in the game yes but I have no problem seeing him hit the road. He is like the les of the d. People have figured him out and he won't change. I still feel optomistic about our d, our o makes me want depression meds. The killer is we have the players to be a nc team now and it's remarkable how coaching is managing to screw everything up.
