I always liked his comments. Especially during CWS coverage. Did anyone catch the argument he had with that fatty John Kruck (sp?) a couple nights ago? I figured it was just typical ESPN stuff for ratings, but it was pretty heated. Can't remember exactly what was said now. I bet they chose fatty over him. > link <
I heard that on the radio driving home and was kind of shocked. Like you, I heard the Kruk/Reynolds heated discussion Sunday night. At the time I didn't think it was enough to get Reynolds fired. Like you, I don't even remember what the subject was. Got to be more to the story, but so far ESPN is tight lipped.
I was sad to hear he got fired. I really like watching him in the CWS. I did not see the incident you are talking about. Any more info on that?
I liked Harold Reynolds a lot. He always had good, informed opinions, and other than acting out plays (which I'm sure is a network-forced deal), I really enjoy watching him. You're right about the CWS -- his analysis was unprecedented for CWS coverage. OH, what was the argument about w/ Kruk?
they lost both their good guys in Gammons and Reynolds. Joe Morgan is OK, but he is highly outspoken at times I feel. I thought Reynolds called it down the line pretty well.
The story broke in an article in the NY Post. I read the article and it didn't provide any specifics on the firing. I'm racking my feeble brain trying to recall what the discussion was Sunday night between Reynolds & Kruk. So far, nothing.
I just told my husband and his response was something along the lines of "great, now for the CWS we just get their stereo-typicl idiots.":hihi:
What a shame. He was one of my favorite analysts at ESPN, or any network. Now I really wont be able to watch Baseball tonight re-runs.:dis:
Kruk is a complete and total *******... I said from Day-1 that his hire would be the start of that show's downfall...
