Have y'all been watching this show on HBO? It is a REALLY REALLY good show. I'm a Saints fan, and while I have never really been a fan of Dallas, I've always respected them. Whether you like the Cowboys or not....this show is very entertaining and pretty informative too. I watched last year for the Chiefs but this season is way better. Have y'all been watching? I know you have, Clair. Are y'all as entertained with this show as I am?
This is a great season of "Hard Knocks." I was so inspired by TO's t-shirt business that I went to terrellowens.com and bought an "iLoveMeSomeMe" t-shirt. I hope it's in by this Friday because I want to wear it to school that day--set the precedent early with my students. It's been really good. The biggest player disappointment has been that big slug, Martellus Bennett. Watching him fail to take instruction and noting his lack of intensity for the game, I'm super-happy that he didn't come to LSU. I watched one episode with an Aggie friend, and he was just embarrassed by Bennett. Jason Witten comes across as a great family man. Zach Thomas looks like he's working really hard. TO is being TO, but I'm okay with that. Some of the funniest stuff has been when they've interviewed Jason Garrett's dad. He's like a caricature, reminding me of the senile uncle in "Christmas Vacation" that burned up the Christmas tree with his cigar.
:lol: This has been a great season. I love TO for some reason. Probably because the media hates him...I dunno, but it sure is fun to watch.
I think T.O.'s been great in this show. I like how he taped up Jerry Jones' grandson and submerged him in a bucket of ice. He is really funny and extremely entertaining. Roy Williams is a trip, too. The way he sneaks into T.O.'s room and some of the other shenanigans that he pulls. Dave Campo seems to be a good guy too. He is the epitome of a "player's coach". Pacman....er....Adam Jones has him dancing and doing the Superman and stuff. I think it's great. Wade Philips seems to be a bit of a pushover. He is at the other end of the spectrum from Parcells, but the players seem to respond well to him...except for Martellus Bennet (as you mentioned, StaceyO). That dude is a lazy unmotivated ungrateful turd. He has plenty of physical gifts and talent, but he seems to have very little determination. Maybe he'll get cut and open up his eyes. We'll see.
I was in Denver week before last and the Cowboys were staying at the same hotel while scrimmaging with the Broncos all week. It's always amazing to see these guys without the pads on. Pac-Man Jones looks like a little kid without pads. Other than the linemen, you wouldn't think of these guys as NFL players if they walked past you on the street. They're all in great shape but they just don't look as imposing out of uniform. I know Dat Nguyen wasn't a huge NFL player before he got hurt but he really looks small now. Jerry Jones was actually one of the bigger guys in the pack when they entered the hotel. I was hoping to see Bradie James or Marcus Spears but the Cowboy groupies forced the team to avoid the general public. Unfortunately the cheerleaders weren't with them.
fabulous show. it shows how it really is and also shows the funnier side of some of the players in the NFL. I love it.
There is a actually a perfect explanation for that That shocked me too the first time I saw him at the Senior Bowl. I had always pictured him as being a tiny man.
I've now run into Tony Romo two times in person, and he is NOT a large guy, by any stretch of the imagination. It does surprise me, though, because when my husband's friend was with the 49er's in the mid-late 90's, we would stay @ the team hotel when they were in New Orleans and would bump into the players all the time. One time, I ended up in an elevator with my best friend and Jessie Sapolo and Bryant Young. There wasn't room for anyone else after those two guys were in there--absolutely enormous. Romo's size surprises me because I took a couple of pictures with Steve Young during those trips, and he absolutely dwarfed me (really broad shoulders), whereas Tony is really just an average-sized guy.
He was a mountain of a man. When my friend and I got off of the elevator, there was a red carpet to walk with all kinds of paparazzi taking pics. I probably looked like I was actually WITH him.
