Moving from the Pac-1 to the Big 12 is an upgrade...even if it is Kansas. The Big 12 North is not real tough and he may be able to have success. The other teams in his division have to recruit heavily OOS and his name recognition may draw a few more kids his way.

Horrible move if true. His wife is from Kansas though so no telling.

He has a much better opportunity to stay at Stanford and continue to build until a sweet coaching gig presents itself in a year or two.

This is very strange. I guess the wife angle may play some part but Kansas is not an upgrade to Stanford. The money sure looks like it and indicates Kansas is willing to make a major investment in its future but Harbaugh can almost pick his job at this point. There has to be something going on at Stanford that Harbaugh doesnt like.

    isn't Harbaugh from Palo Alto?

Stanford to Kansas is a step down IMO.
Kansas has never been a football school, and just recently went to their 1st bowl in 18,098,977 years.
Stanford ain't exactly a juggernaut, but they've had some good teams, and has produced some pretty good players.
seems like he should hang out there until a top tier school comes calling.
at the rate he's going, that call could come pretty soon.

Turner Gill accepted the job on Saturday. Next year's KU/NU game could be very interesting.

I have no idea why anyone is saying Harbaugh is getting the job when it was filled yesterday.
