3 years ago today, the New Orleans Saints won their first and (so far) only Super Bowl NFL championship. Every Saints fan will always remember where they were and the sheer joy they they felt watching Tracy Porter return the Manning interception for a TD. Getting choked up just thinking about it. Awesome feeling.
All I know is that I'm glad Phil Simms wasn't our DC. He's on the record as saying if he were the Saints, he would sit back in coverage and not blitz. It just so happens that we DID blitz, which forced Manning to throw a nanosecond before he wanted to and the rest is, as they say, history.
What a wonderful season and day that was. The only down point of that season was that I took my Cowboys boyfriend (at the time) to his first COwboys games vs the Saints at the Dome that year. As you know that was our first loss of the season. Luckily leaving he decided to not gloat. Sidenote: He was going to propose that night or the next day sometime and when the Saints loss to his stupid Cowboys his brother text him and said "wait three days," he waited four and I said yes.
Greatest feeling I've ever had watching sports. I was on an emotional high for like a year or longer...seriously
