He was imperfect but still a big deal to a lot of Americans. I do find it troubling that probably all of us would be a little nervous if we were in any city on MLK drive though. Kind of a slap in the face to a man who preached peace.
I think he would be very disappointed at today's so called civil rights leadership. MLK wanted to give African Americans equal opportunity to succeed not a gift. He expected them to take the opportunity and run and compete. Today the Sharptons and his ilk are selfishly using the poor as vehicles to their own power and wealth. It seems they care little to do the things required to help those who need it most. Fortunately many have and do. We are all better for them and their contributions.
well of course he wasnt perfect. lots of hate and resentment on that fella back then. that was tough sledding for him. and yes he would be disappointed.
Since MLK's birthday is January 15th and this year the 15th fell on a Friday, why is it celebrated today, Monday the 18th? Random thought: If Martin Luther King were alive today is there any street in the USA named after him that he would want to live on?
Funny you say that cause many white-owned businesses were open today. Banks and guberment shit shut down. I walked into two white-owned businesses today and jokingly told them they were racist for being open and not observing. Am anxious to see if any protests got out of hand today.
wonder how MLK would view ferguron. would he see it as "we are no longer afraid" or be dismayed at what he saw?
