I agree with you 100%. Jacob Hester is a FOOTBALL PLAYER. You could start building a team around him just based on his attitude and leadership. I was very, very happy for him to be drafted in the third....and a bit surprised at the glowing reports and respect out of SD's coach and owner about him. Is he my favorite Tiger of all time? Probably so, yeah. Because he represents what a Tiger should be. ldskule:
talentless and white just like all of us. ok i couldnt help myself. clearly hes a bit more talented than us.
I'm VERY happy for Jacob. I hope he goes on to contribute and enjoy a successful NFL career. I always put him in the same class of person and player with Hokie Gajan, one of my favorite all time Tigers. With those two guys, you got about 4 hearts!!! I hope the Chargers grow to like him. We know he's a good 4th and 1 back!
I Definitely Watched A Few Games On Behalf Of Him Alone....I Caught The Big Games Mainly....(Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, OSU) And Every Game This Guy Was Pounding The Ball Downfield...Real Physical Back And I Think That's The Kind Of Power Grinder Back You Need To Have To Compliment Your Elusive Back..... Bettis & Parker Dunn & Alstott Reggie & Lendale LT & The Burner Taylor & Jones-Drew But LT & Hester Will Fit Nicely...I Swear I Feel The Running Game Won't Lose A Step....And Plus He Has The Hands To Where That Dumb Fullback Pas Play Might Work Now:thumb: I Know There's Like An Unspoken Rivalry Between SC & LSU....But I Can Recognize Talent No Matter What Colors....Hopefully We Can Meet Up On The Field Someday Soon But In The Meantime As Far As The Bolts Go....Thanks For The Talent :thumb:
Welcome to Trojan Man! Happy to have you post over here, whenever you can. We do have some history with USC, but I think we respect the talent they have on hand every year. We'd like to meet again on the field, its been too long, like since 1979 in Baton Rouge as best as I can remember. I think it ended 17-12 USC's way, but it was a whale of a game, I remember listening to it on the radio. The crowd was so loud, you could barely hear the announcers.
here's a link from a charger site, what they have to say about Hester... Interesting thread, not all complimentary... http://forums.chargers.com/showthread.php?t=55826
:lol: I'll Bet... Actually I Made A Thread Yesterday But They Were Quick To Merge it With Another.... I Was Wondering Am I The Only One Excited About The Pick Because I Seen A Few Doubters.....I Got Good Responses Until They Merged With This One..... http://forums.chargers.com/showthread.php?t=55812 Then Over On Bolttalk There's A Good Thread Going... http://www.bolttalk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=12777 And He Did An Interview On The Radio On Scott & BR On 1090xx...He's Already Winning Over Fans With His Character Alone.... Exactly What I Was Thinking....
I don't know, looked overwhelmingly in favor to me. There were the inevitable moaners but doesn't every fan base have those? My favorite quotes were from the Ark and Fla fans: Hester and Dorsey will forever be remembered as the leaders of this team in heart, and production. I don't care for the NFL but it will be impossible for me to not follow their careers.
