Get it right. What I said was the fact that he was able to influence an entire nation to believe his garbage was nothing short of amazing. AH was a nut job of the highest caliber

And that was just as stupid as yanking HW Jr. I mean who takes their lead on political issues from Hank or the Dixie Chicks? Who cares if they said something stupid, what did you expect from a bunch of mush heads? Political correctness has gone waaaaay off the tracks.

The Dixie Sluts made anti Bush statements which put them in hot water with many fans.

I know, the point is that the Hank Williams blow-up was the same damn thing and nothing new.

You are missing the point. The ABC Monday night gig was being passed, supposedly, from ABC to ESPN, who had the lesser marquee, NFL game on Sunday night for years. NBC re-enters the NFL schedule by securing a marquee national game on Sunday night and then to further solidify their claim as the rightful continuation of ABC's Monday night classic, they hire the old ABC Monday night announcing icons, Al Michaels and John Madden.

Now here's where it gets tricky. Who really is the continuation of the original Monday night game. It's true, NBC gets the best games with AL Michaels and John Madden carrying the announcing torch and here's ESPN and they get their familiar lesser schedule, but they are on Monday night, which you would think is 9/10th of the law. The deciding factor in this entire confusing scenario, you guessed it, the old ABC Monday night crooner and Alabama legend, Hank Williams Jr. singing that old ABC football Hall of Fame Standard, "All My Rowdy Friends," NOW, on ESPN. Soon all of humanity is associating Howard Cosell with Mike Tirico, Dandy Don/John Gruden, Dan Dierdorf/Jaws.

The pendulum has swung, the balance has shifted, the Tide has turned. Suddenly, Al Michaels is king again and Hank Williams Jr. and his "Rowdy Friends" have taken their show to Sunday night.

    Let that damn song go.

If just plain football is not good enough, don't watch.

I don't need "enhanced" entertainment of rock or pop acts, loud music blaring, and the rest of the crap the "entertainment" has brought to the game.

Just suit up and play. If you want entertainment, watch a mime act!
