Did they even send out feelers to any other coach? Why Jimbo or bust? I swear, we are going to rue the day soon when Georgia or Aggies snatch up Tom Herman and we watch them become the next dynasty while we still can't beat Ole Miss.

Because Alleva isn't any kind of visionary or strategic leader. He's a bean counter who was hired to make sure the athletics money train keeps humming along the track.

How great would it be to pay 7 million and still lose to Saban? I've moved on to the who gives a fuck stage of grief.

I don't think it was the support shown I think it was the asking price jimbo got up to. No way we could afford the reported 7 mil per year and miles buyout. Only people who would have gotten that would have been saban or chucky.

I think the national pity party for Miles weakened any resolve the PTB might have had. Can't have ESPN not liking us now can we.

so we could have lost in some horrendous fashion playing prevent offense, which we were doing at that point, and we would have kept him?

No plan B. As many feared, worst case scenario. Not only was their no backup new coach in waiting but also reaffirmed the man himself.

and then the press conference with less saying 'nothing to see here people, our qb is playing better and our special teams is strong'. if that didn't make your stomach turn, nothing will.

Alleva and his idiots lucked out with LSU winning. Because they would have looked stupid for keeping Miles after a loss. They would also look stupid by not having a coach lined up.
