i think we're doing pretty well on offense, of course the results in the redzone leave a LOT to be desired. give state defense some credit, those guys are playing PHYSICAL. we'll pull away in the second half though. only complaint that i really have is that we have had receivers WIDE OPEN and the play calling is SUCKING HUGELY by not taking advantage. i'm not sure jarrett lee in the game would have produced results any differently. but, play calling is the complete opposite of last week, we're reverting back to this damn conservative bullsh!t.
I think the only way State is going to get into the endzone is if they keep going to the no huddle. And even then you still gotta make a defense break that usually doesn't.
Our dee is making O's out there look mediocre. Vandy did well against Miss. And today, we hold the cowbells scoreless so far.
I agree, we need to get some TDs on the scoreboard. It's a bit worrisome to me that we seem to be struggling in the red zone. I don't think field goals will cut it when we play tougher opponents like UF & Bama
no doubt, but you have to keep some of the positives in perspective. i would like at least two of those drives to have resulted in a TD, but we're going to be a second-half offense this season, IMO. that gives the coaches time to see what JJ did well in the first half and game plan accordingly... not sure if that is an ideal system, but if it works... our defense can wear teams out, we can take advantage. if it works....
