:geaux: I'll add a "Hail to the Chief" as well. The "D" is really starting to come around and proving that Chavis defense's get better and improve steadily throughout the season. I feel the defense is going to be awesome and play lights out against the Gators in front of 92,400 crazies in Tiger Stadium next Saturday!:thumb: I like our chances whether Tebow plays or not. Also, congrats to two Georgia boys who did well in yesterday's game. Kelvin Sheppard had five tackles I believe with two for losses. Don't know how many tackles Perry Riley had but the interception to end the game speaks for itself. These two played lights out in front of their folks against their home state's flagship school. Doesn't get any better than that! Don't know if GA. recruited these two, but I'm glad both are Tigers! Congrats again to Perry and Kelvin for one hell of a game! GEAUX TIGERS! :LSU231:
I think him having playing Ga. every year while at Tenn really helped alot. He knew what to expect from them. I hope the same holds true next week with FU.
Did anyone on defense miss a tackle yesterday? If a Tiger hit a Bulldog, the Bulldog went down. About halfway through the game it was the single biggest improvement I noticed.
There were some really SOLID pops on the Georgia players yesterday - it was very encouraging. I think the D is starting to play more "instinctively" rather than over thinking things. It's starting to look pretty fierce. Hope that only gets better.:geaux:
The only one I noticed was Chad Jones missing one. He made some kind of Superman dive to hit someone, missed and ended up flying off my TV screen. That was when he got hurt (?shoulder?) and was on the sideline getting medical attention. Must not have been too bad because he was back in the game not long after. Besides that, GREAT TACKLING this weekend!! As for the Chief's defense.... I believe it is great and has always had the potential to work this good. No matter how great a defensive scheme is: if the players aren't buying into it and the coaches preaching it, it's not going to work to it's fullest. I feel that the defense is now believing in what Chavis is preaching to them.
chavis's D at UT had only given up more than 2 offensive TDs once to UGA since richt has been there. how many Saturday? 2.
Agreed. Us, the Crowd will be the 12th man and maybe the entire Defense on third downs! We need to get LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
