Good thing I have a strong heart cause Miles is the cardiac coach for sure but YOU HAVE to LOVE him :milesmic: Mad hatter LSU 5-0 :geaux::geaux:
Compare LSU's D to the other SEC D's that Georgia has faced... Ark D gave them -- 485 yards SC D gave them -- 427 yards LSU D gave them -- 273 yards
When I was watching the game yesterday I was thinking that this defense is starting to look like the days of terror. And also Peterson for President!:usaflagwa
Chavis is really starting to put his print on the team. We are getting better each week. I just hope he stays here because we are seeing improvements each week on D. The LBs had by far their best game. The DL played well as well except for the final drive. Hail the Chief!
I'm beginning to notice that our LB corp this season looks faster, and better able to play on sweeps and in pass coverage. Early in the game, a motion guy cleared out Peterson and Ga. ran to his side. I think it was Sheppard came flying in and creamed the runner on the sideline. He was really moving.
some thoughts: -the D has gotten better as the year has progressed, i hope that trend continues. -i would like to be a little better agianst third downs, especially critical ones, but once again, it has gotten better. -other than PP thinking he had safety help that wasn't there, and hawkins getting treated like a 2nd grader in the end zone (seriously dude, all you had to do was knock it down, get a hand on it, put up your hand and turn your head for pete's sake, you coulda made the play) we played that drive really well in coverage. chavis favors coverage over pressure, which was fine against cox and his mediocrity, but i do wonder how we will do against more mobile qb's and better passers. i'm much less forgiving on a defense than i am on the offense, it may just be the way i'm wired, but i hope we can keep this up against better offenses. that said, i'll take allowing just two TD's to every SEC team we play. i am hoping that we see some of the same defense (gap sound and flying to ball more) vs the gators.
D definitely showed substantial improvement this game. It was good to have them back. That first half was a thing of sheer beauty. Between the UGA 3-and-outs and the sustained drives by our offense, the D was barely on the field. However, Chavis has had trouble versus the spread option this year (USL, State). But I'm hoping the fact that he faced Meyer 3 times while at Tenn gives him an advantage vs the Gators.
