Would that have been the greatest punt return you've ever seen in your life? He was a shoe string tackle away from scoring.
He made me think of Barry Sanders at one point, when he was surrounded by defenders and then, suddenly, he somehow wasn't. You had to watch it over and over to figure out exactly how he did it. It was amazing.
He played with 'em. Seriously. How many guys stop in the middle of a run, juke 'em and take off leaving two on the ground?
Haven't been able to find a vid of the second one, but sure would like to watch it a couple 100 more times.
I remember seeing Trent Richardson (please forgive me for mentioning an Alabama player) do something similar the week before LSU played them. But Mathieu is a helluva lot more fun to watch. Richardson lumbers. Mathieu is like smoke.:hihi:
Even though he DIDN'T score, I'm pretty sure it WAS the best punt return I've ever seen. Unbelievable!
I swear I thought of him when I posted it cause I saw him do that in an earlier game. My cousin looked at me and said, "That's going to be on his Heis highlight" and two minutes later the announcers said it and we lol'd. TM's was more of a multi-move though. TR's was more like a jump-cut.
