J-Lee's ineptitude aside...the coaches should own some of this loss. The playcalling was pretty horrible in a lot of key situations. For instance...it's third and two...our backs are getting an average of 4 ypc and our QB hasn't completed a pass in twenty minutes. Time to call a pass, right??

    I mean MY GOD!!!

But, you know, whatever. It's their team to do what they will. All we can do is piss and moan about it.

    Nope, not a one.

The way Lee was successful with the two option plays you have to think JJ would have been even better on those type plays. As far as passing or reading defenses we have no way of knowing.

Not really a good argument cause there is no way to know, nor is there anything to go on to support anything.

    That being said.

We still lose to UF and UGA because there were other problems that caused those loses.

HOWEVER I have to think that the overall mood of the team isnt very good when they see this guy screwing up time after time with no consquences has got to be bringing them down.

    Ok I will say this....

If Lee is still the starter after this weekend we lose to Troy and Ole Miss.

If JJ is the starter after this weekend we will lose to Ole Miss.

SO if JJ was the starter all year I would have to say that we would have lose 3 games.

I understand, but none of us knew how terrible Lee would be that early. Hatch was the initial starter, remember? So it's hard for me to blame Miles for not putting Jefferson in so soon; however, after all the terrible QB play lately, I do blame Miles for not giving JJ some reps.

Well Crowton has done a piss poor job playing to Lee's weakness' thus far. running slants when the boy cant throw across the middle. He can do decent when its outside..... sometimes , except when he decides to toss it into double coverage.

Tell me if Lee "knows" the playbook why do they have offensive line men that get the play in? and why is it signaled in with no outlet? ( second ) receiver?

Yes virginia we do watch football as a fan base and some of us do notice this stuff.

Lee is marginal at best. JJ might be marginal but who can tell? CLM may see things in practice that we dont see but IF JJ is much WORSE than LEE then someone is wasting a scolly.

Keep in mind that there are practice players that look well in practice but don't play well in games and vice versa.
Most famous case I can think of is Elvis Grbac!

Lee's weakness is anything other than turning around and handing the ball to a RB. His has missed badly and repeatedly everywhere on the field. He continues to stare down receivers, not go through his progressions, throw into double coverage and throw off his back foot. He is not capable of consistently hitting WR's running any route, he's just plain bad at this point. I'm more nervous about the opposing team scoring when our offense is on the field than when our defense is on the field. Until the Bama game the coaching staff had taken the pass to the TE completely out of the play book because he can't hit a 6'6" 250lb target 5 yards away. Crowton is totally taken out of his offense with the current QB situation. 13 of 34 with 4 int's, mostly on short high percentage passes tells you all you need to know.

The fact that he's getting worse makes me wonder if his confidence is just gettting fried. We've seen him play much better and I still think he's better than he's playing. I think nerves and inexperience in the beginning of the season led to a full confidence breakdown and that's where we stand now. He doesn't even seem to put the same zip on his passes that we saw earlier on. I agree that in light of recent events, it's time to take the pressure off of him and try something else.

But the question then is...what if the same thing happens to JJ? Then we've got TWO screwed up QBs for next season. I think one of several things will happen in the off-season, and all of them are positive. One and the least likely is that they salvage Lee's talent and turn him into what they were hoping he would be this year. The more likely scenario is they bring JJ up and he takes the team over.

The point is that IMO, nothing will happen until next year. The team is playing well enough to get us to a January bowl game and hopefully we'll win that and springboard into next season.

I dont buy that. I have said since the Auburn game that there is something mechanicaly wrong with this kid.

What is happening now is the other players around him are pissed off! Because they all know if they screwed up as bad as him they would be sitting on the bench!

If Scott, Williams, or Murphy had as many fumbles as Lee has Ints do you think they would still be playing?

Miles is losing this team and you can see it in the reaction of the players when a bad pass is made or an int thrown.

They do not respect Lee and therefore are not gonna play for him anymore!
