ZOMGZ! OMG! NOBODY HAS CALLED HIM OUT ABOUT THIS! THEY ARE THE FIRST! I HOPE THEY REALLY LET HIM HAVE IT, OOOH BOY THAT'LL SHOW HIM TO EVER LOSE A GAME AGAIN!

Do you guys really get off on this stuff? They are paid somewhere around 30k to criticize for one day a week, the man who gets paid 4 million to work 365 for the people of Louisiana.

He erred greatly, but if you think some random media yokel is gonna get under his skin, or Joe Alleva's for that matter, think again.

Can we stop with these "OH NO THE MEDIA IS TALKING BAD ABOUT US!" posts? We lost, it's an easy target. We get back to winning next week we'll get to be part of the cool kids group again, and we can all go back to pointing and laughing with the crowd.

    This too shall pass.

Good post. I'm still pissed about the game, but good post and good perspective.

To me this video is very serious.

After the game, I told the guy sitting next to me at the Abita Brew pub that I was a Miles supporter and defended him from unjust criticism...(so was he). I told him that The main thing that I dislike about Miles was his so called coach speak habit of saying nonsense to dance around the question.

I said that he needs to clearly and directly say something to the effect of "Don't blame my players...don't blame my coaches...Blame me for the loss. It's my fault."

I listened, first hand, to most of the Jordy Hultberg interview after the game and I didn't hear much direct admission of fault. I read his statement of blaming himself for the loss, but to tell you the truth, he gave it very short shrift in the middle of more of his nonsensical talk about the game.

Then late last night I see this video. Crip is right. He basically threw Jefferson under the bus and tried to deflect blame and not admit it. I don't know the chronology of the sequence, but it doesn't matter to me at all. Since the firestorm caused by this video, Has he STRONGLY and FIRMLY clarified his actions and words? I'm still waiting.

When someone has a bad meal at my restaurant...It's MY fault whether the line cook messed up the plate or not. It's MY responsibility...and I don't make millions of dollars like CLM.

I lost a lot of respect for coach Miles last night for the game management problems, but more so for his deflection of responsibility as evidenced in that video...

....but I'm just a cook. Would you like fries with that opinion?

Man, I wish it was that simple. It's not going to go away, and the TV and print media are going to all over this the entire week. But you know what? It is deserved criticism.

I can accept losing a game because of what happens on the field - a dropped pass, a missed field goal, a missed tackle, etc. Those things happen; I don't like it, but it happens, especially in a hard-fought game. As long as the coaches got them into a position to be competitive, to be in a position to win, there's really no issue.

However, that has not been the case. It looks as if several games have been won this season and last DESPITE the coaching.

Ok, but either way, if it's that inevitable, why create a thread with not one but three exclamations, for something that is so expected? We knew there would be an onslaught of backlash in the national media, why do we care about "tough stuff" on a second rate network?

If you don't get why this is bad for LSU you have issues!

It's nice to figure out you are falling before you hit the floor.

!!!! to me it should be 4 and not 3 !!!!!!! points!

Love my Tigers! Love the kids on the field!

I expect the LSU coaching staff to have their back and put them in the position to win! That is what I expect at every game!!

If I don't get it from the staff it makes me upset as for the kids, I can deal with it.

You know the answer just as well as the next person. It's plain and simple, and I'm not busting on Cliff for posting it: misery loves company. And right now, after that debacle yesterday, there's an awful lot of misery among the Tiger Nation. Still, nothing wrong with venting.

Agreed. I strongly disagree with the posters who think criticism is out of line over this. I see three separate issues here.

    3. Least important. The bizzare, inarticulate press conference. Not exactly how you want the coach to represent the program.
    2. The bad clock management. This aint the first time.
    1. By far, by far the most serious was Les's denying he called for a spike, but video footage shows him appearing to do just that on the sidelines. This is especially bad because he seems to deflect some blame to JJ. I'll await his explanation, but right now am having trouble envisioning any explanation other than that he got caught in a lie.
