I am an LSU Fan first of all, I am a little confused at your question or what you mean. Yes, I had prepared myself before this game just in case we lost it.
I am so very proud of this team, coaches and everyone.
No one wants to lose to Bama especially me but neither team should hang their heads after this game. Mistakes were made on both sides of the ball.
I am so happy we were able to win but I have finally grown up and decided football is just a game, it isn't the end of the world.
It is a win, why complain after a win?

The only thing I questioned was not going with Jefferson and Ford the rest of the night after they got it going. Ware was of no use (16 carries, 29 yards) and was not going to be of any use against this stout defense, especially right up the middle where Ware runs.

I didn't like putting Lee back in when they did. I thought he should have been done for the night. It nearly cost us the game.

So yes there is definite room to question the offensive play calling by Stud. But ultimately we were still in the game and just had to wait for our opportunity to win the game.

Ah, another win against an SEC opponent on the road in a tough environment.

Reoccurring theme we got going on there.

Well, the good news is that we don't have to question ourselves as much as the 'Bama coaches might be questioning themselves. :hihi:

It was gridlock out there in the receiving lanes. Both defenses were stingy as hail and did their job.

When you boil it down our D really was playing their D!

    I agree with you Wildcard.

LSU was pretty ugly on offense. IMO, it comes down to only having two approaches .... run or long pass down field. LSU doesn't utilize thier RBs well in the passing game at all.

I saw a lot of weaknesses in the armor of Bama's D, but the plays either were not called to exploit them, or do not exists in our playbook.

JJ came in real handy. Ol Slobbering Lou was right for once. JJ and the option is something this Bama D does not deal with very well. I was glad to see him in. I think Lee could have been more effective if LSU had the types of plays that could have exploited his talents against this Bama D, but again, I don't think those plays exists in the LSU playbook. Particularly, the chip-release screen pass that TR was running all night. That was all that saved McCarron's passing game. It could have done a lot for LSU as well. Stud/Krags need to steal that play and exploit it, because it is fantastic.

BUT ...as noted ... we came away with the W .. and that is all that really matters.

That pass from our endzone was big and a gutsy call.

Exactly the point I was making. Saban got cute with Maze's pass downfield and look where it got him.

This wasn't a game for gimmicks. Both defenses are too good and too smart. This was a game for men, battling on the field, head-to-head and may the best man win.
