My gut feeling is good. In what is almost sure to be a defensive struggle I like the team with the better turnover margin. This one could just go either way.
Wow ... talk about a lack of reality. I went read all of that site, and to say the least, I can bet Saban is hoping his players aren't under the same delusion that the Gumps are under! I mean ... at least here, we RESPECT Bama. We KNOW they are good, and not to be taken lightly. Anyone who thinks Bama is going to beat LSU 41-10 has forgotten to take their meds. ... but as the most famous Gump of all has stated ....... "Stupid is as Stupid does".
I've got a good feeling about this game. And thats not like me. Just think LSU has too many horses and is loaded with confidence. If LSU plays a mistake free game they will win by double digits. I'm slightly concerned that LSU hasn't really been challenged this season and that if they find themselves down might panic. But they've had off the field adversity and a ton of adversity last season, so that should help them stay focused. Its extraordinary the way they've dominated this season and maintained a laser focus. No let downs. And any time an opponent has made a bit of a run, LSU seems to effortlessly click it into a higher gear. If I'm right, Saban's team will be tighter than Les's team.
College Football News: Alabama made favorite over LSU - at VegasInsider.com, the leader in Sportsbook and Gaming information - College Football Stories, College Football Headlines, College Football Top News, College Football Latest News, NCAA Footbal 3.5 to 4 points. Not bad. If it was a six point spread, that would worry me (because I'm usually wrong when I think a spread is ridiculous and six points would be ridiculous).
Read that thread. The one set of numbers the Gumps seem to ignore is 8-3. That's AMAB turnovers to  turnovers. Five (five!) picks and three fumbles lost to one pick and two fumbles lost. Even the most blind Ellie Funt can't argue that Satan's boys have faced a secondary as good as that led by the Honey Badger and yet they've had five (five!) passes picked off so far. If the Tigers stay even or positive in turnovers then the Tide rolls right down the bowl.
Not rain on this statistic, but 5 of those 8 were in the first game. McCarron threw two pics in that game. Since that game, both teams are tied 3 and 3. But I think McCarron holds the hgiher potential to turn it over between him and JLee. This is especially true if LSU's defense takes away the T.Richardson Screen pass.
Alabama has yet to give up more than 14 points this year to any team. We both have great defenses, no one can dispute that fact but I am just wandering why you have so much faith in your offense. Your offense isn't that much better than Arkansas and we held them to 14 points. Granted I am not saything we have a better offense than LSU but overall I say these are two very even teams. This is going to be a very low scoring game and will probably be won on special teams or a pick 6 turnover. I know that each side is going to be biased, but saying we are going to get blown out in Tuscaloosa is psychotic and dilusional. Here is to a game for the centuries. Ala 20 LSU 17
You're in for a very rude awakening if you think shutting down our offense will be anything like shutting down Arky. Our offense brings POWER and BALANCE to the table. Arky is light and one-dimensional. Not to mention, we're currently averaging around 39pts/game (as are the gumps), and lead the SEC in passing efficiency. That is correct. This is the best offense (in terms of balance) and the best defense that either team will face all year. Quite possibly, and that favors us. We lead the NATION in turnover margin. Cuts both ways. Seems like some of your fans are saying that we'll be getting blown out. All things considered, I think LSU has the psychological advantage because: a) we've succeeded in harsh environments this year, b) we have overcome heaps of turmoil, which span back all the way from the spring up until now, c) our QBs have 9yrs of college football experience between them, and both have played at BDS previously, and d) we've somehow managed to be the underdog in this match-up despite being #1 in the nation. . .but it's a role this team seems to love, so we'll take it.
