You must have missed the game last evening. Tennessee was stacking the box, crowding the receivers and d-backs trying to take away the inside routes. AJ came out smokin throwing deep, wide and often. They blew it open in the 3rd quarter, in the air and the vols did not account for even one first down in the entire second half. That type of dominance has been the norm for this team, all season long.

So you're comparing LSU's defense to Tennessee's defense?

I'm comparing Alabama's offensive dominance and diversity to what LSU has been able to sustain and accomplish this season, yes.

None of that matters. But if you think it does- LSU NEVER trailed to the vols. In fact, the last time we trailed in any game was in week 1 against the ducks.

Bama trailed the vols last night to start the game (In Bama)

That was impressive to be sure but Tennessee's DL and secondary are a few notches below LSU's. That dog won't hunt against this defense. Still, I don't mean this to sound cocky. I have tremendous respect for Bama on both sides of the ball. This will come down to who makes the least (or, hopefully, no) mistakes.

I understand that Bama has been good on offense. TR is a beast, and McCarron has done a great job. What makes you think that LSU won't be successful in slowing down Bama, and quite possibly shutting them down? LSU has a better defense than TN, no?

This is true Tusk .... but .. it was against the Vols!!! No depth, no experience ... no nothin'. It is the pattern that is typical when a powerhouse meets up with a wimp. AR and Ol Miss had the same M.O. yesterday. OU almost came back on TT last night, but the lead was too big, and TT didn't give up.

I don't think Bama pulls a "last evening" on LSU. .. and I don't think you believe they do either. If they come out flat like they did last night, Bama will be toast by half time. Of course .. if LSU comes out flat like Bama did last night, LSU will be toast. These two teams are very evenly matched. My computer calculations have them statistically a dead tie.

McCarron was impressive last night! But I have to consider the opponent. Richardson ALWAYS looks great. That dude is just fricken awsome. BUT .. I think LSU's defense holds him in check. They won't shut him down .. just slow him up enough to make a difference.

Can't remember what thread I posted too .. but I'll ask it here as well ...how do you feel this Bama team stacks up against last years team?? [now i'll go and search around and see if I can figure out what other thread I asked that quesiton on! ].

Like I said- none of this matters. But if you want to talk about it, here's another one for you: Both LSU and Bama beat the vols by 31 points.

But LSU did it at their house. If the vols would have been in Death Valley, we would have beaten them worse than we beat AU last night.

Unless I totally missed the context of Cliff's notes, he was suggesting that LSU's offense was more attack oriented and diverse. That was my singular rebuttal. I'm saving my defensive comparsions for another thread. But I agree with you, X's and O's is not what this game is going to be about.
