Last year, I was not confident that we could beat AU, Bama or Arky. In fact, I watched each game ... on the edge of my seat ... wondering! BUT ... this year, I just feel this LSU team is going to be too much for any other team. After running my numbers, LSU wins 16.48 to 16.43 over Bama .... LOL. Pretty slim eh. But ... for some reason, whether its the fact that I don't think Bama's Defense has truly been tested, or that I don't think LSU's offense has been cut loose, .... I just can't put my finger on it .... But .. I just get a feeling, LSU is going to win it bigger than we think. My formula prediction puts it at a rounded 17 point break point, with Bama scoring 17 or less, ... and LSU scoring 17 or better. But quite frankly, I think LSU wins by double digits, extending their double digit winning streak to 9-0. :geaux:
I also tend to agree. After yesterday, I have a little gut feeling that LSU's multitude of offensive weapons may be a bit too much for Bama to handle. I believe LSU does have a credible passing threat, very deep staple of RB's, and good O-line. Most importantly, they have been able to execute. Bama's offense can be stopped by the LSU defense when it is playing at its best.
I never make predictions on here--ever, especially not scoring predictions. But I have a good feeling about this. Still, I'll be nervous as all get out on and around November 5th.
I am excited to see Ware back on the field. I am confident that he will have on what appears to be a Superman cape because he knows that if he doesn't produce he will be riding the pine after watching what Hilliard and Ford did yesterday!!
Dude .. that was an excellent read .. and I agree 100% IF .. LSU shows up to play in Tuscaloosera ... there is simply no way Bama is going to beat them. Their offense is pretty much T Richardson and Co. TN successfully shut Richardson down the first half. The difference in TN and LSU, is when McCarron goes to putting the ball up, the risk of an interception increase is linear .. the more he throws, the more likely we get a pick. Also, our Front 6 are enough to hold Richardson back when they are playing their game .. and McCarron is likely to bite the turf a few times before the night is over. But .. I think the main difference between this year and last .. is this year .. we have a fricken OFFENSE!! There are no superstars, just 11 players who get out and execute like no offense I've seen. Ware and Hilliard aren't Richardson, but they can slam the holes over and over all night long. Lee isn't Landry Jones ... but he is highly efficient. Randle isn't Julio Jones, but he is dang good. Our Front Line is great ... JJ adds a weird dimension that defenses have to plan for, Stampley is a fricken freight train .. ODB .. is a star rising ... Shep is defining his place in the scheme. .... like I said ... no superstars .... just TEAM! Our defense can shut down Richardson .. but their defense can't shut down our entire offense. Dang this is feeling sweet. :geaux:
Bama plays basic football 101 but they do it very well. LSU has more weapons and has shown unlike Bama that when people stack the box we go on attack. That is the new LSU O vs the old LSU O. I think we beat Bama by 13 I am sure that number will go up the closer we get to Nov 5th
+1! Excellent point of view! We have no single superstar on offense because we don't need one, as it's the entire offense TEAM that stands out! For the first time in several years, I've got a positive feeling before our game against Bama! :geaux:
