R'oh r'oh Raggy. The Dawgs might be in some deep doo doo . They'd likely be fine if it wasn't for those meddling kids. http://www.georgiadogs.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/100914aad.html
maybe gurley will be the rosa parks who is remembered as the last straw against the hypocritiical, misguided, leviathan organization known as the ncaa.
I effin hope so. This is such a non-issue IMO. $400 for 80 objects....and allegedly because a random person called the UGa athletic department with pics but no pics of him accepting compensation. At least there was video of Jameis and his crabs leaving the store and all he got was a half-game suspension. UGa sells that #3 jersey for $90 and the NCAA reaps the benefits of his success. Why the hell shouldn't college athletes get a share of the skin that comes from their hard work. $400 is nothing.
For actual video evidence of outright theft. Richt should have agreed to suspend once shown some actual proof. It looks like the "caller" is a UF grad. I hope LSU beats the hide off those saurian bastards. I despise the gators.
He was ratted out by a "collector" he was getting paid by who was pissed that he started signing crap for a number of other collectors as well, thereby driving down the value of his investment. Why any of these athletes think they can trust someone who's encouraging them to do something that will end their careers for personal gain is beyond me. It's like committing a crime with a stranger. What incentive do they have not to rat you out to save themselves or screw you over? After Manziel's close call, you'd think guys would be a bit more aware. Nope. Should he be able to sell his own autograph? Of course. Will college athletes ever be able to? Probably one day soon. But until that day, stay in your shoes Junior. Or risk throwing away the rest of your college eligibility, making your team vacate hard fought wins, and oh yeah - very possibly pissing away a Heisman.
Not sure about Gurleys signings, but Manziel was caught selling sequentially numbered items, and a shit ton of them, no one who signs numbered items can deny those items are for sale. And no one would sign that amount of seq. numbered items for free, but the ncaa had to protect their Heisman investment.
Against Rice. Based on that and comparing how much Gurley got, how much Manziel probably got, and the quality of the opponents and the relative importance of the games Gurley should be suspended for a first and second downs and be allowed to enter the game on third down
