i think we've found our nice comfort level in the top 5 recruiting classes. this is an inexact science, so no real need to be #1. clm and crew seems to find 2 and 3 * recruits who become gems. i do hope to get collins, phillips and hill though. from there, let the cards fall where they may. and i especially like that we've been getting real good linemen to go along with the o and d backs and wr. now, for some heavy duty linebackers.
I don't agree 2nd QB - back-up is a huge deal with any program. If Gunner comes in early and shows that he can be a freshman back-up and be ready to be the man by earning the spot - no red-shirt for this guy.
I don't think so. Right now Texas is sitting with 5, 5* recruits and 12, 4* recruits. Even if LSU adds 3, 5* I don't think it will push us ahead of Texas. (This is based off scout.com) Not that it matters to me. As long as LSU gets a top 10 class they will be able to compete with anyone.
TBH I don't think there's anything Gunner can do to not get a redshirt. Les will not play him early and will want another year between him and the other 2.
love the sour grapes at the bama site: "corndogs enjoying the guy who bama told no. Moral recruiting victory ahoy!!!" "Nope, the reason why Saban quit recruiting Kiel is because his ability wasn't up to his standards since his original offer was given. I saw Kiel several times this year, inlcuding the Mailbu QB Elite 11 competiiton, and the kid is not a certain success. In fact in Malibu, he was not even in the top 11 in the country." "Kiel broke down mentally and physically at this competition.......basicially, he sucked compared to almost all the other QB's in the competition...I'm not exaggerating this. He could not hit a pass......he wasn't that quick (in comparison to the other QB's there), he missed a lot of passes.....threw high a lot. Bounced many others. Got a bad attitude with the coaches. Now you know why Saban backed off? That's why......otherwise, Saban would have been all over it when Indy floundered." Their responses make me feel like Kiel's gonna be a good one.
What made schools so eager to offer Kiel? It was more than his excellent name. Kiel has a good (not great) arm capable of making all the throws. His mobility is decent for someone considered a pocket passer. But it's Kiel's intelligence that sets him apart. He has an excellent understanding of the passing game. Expect Kiel to compete for immediately playing time in the SEC . Kiel is rated as the top pro-style quarterback in the country, and is a five-star recruit by most services. He plans to enroll early and take part in Spring practice. Lord it's good to be me !! TC
Perrilloux is from LA, bra. Barksdale from Michigan, Sheppard from GA, (we're pulling em from GA frequently now, 2 from Buford HS this year alone), Sam Montgomery from South Carolina...we bad...we nationwide.
