Oops, you're right. I skimmed over the Wiki-thing and the sentence read, "his sons, Blair's nephews,.... then it listed Gunner and 2 other boys. I saw "sons" and then looked for Gunner and found him listed. Weird way to word it, but Blair is his uncle. Well, that's good news. He wouldn't be as tied to ND as I thought. Come on down Gunner!! Gunner, is that the perfect quarterback name or what?
I would love to have him but not getting my hopes too high because it is still going to be tough to get him away from home. LSU has put themselves in great position though with the family.
ND seems to be in a good position, he still was looking at bama but the interest isnt mutual since they will more than likely get Winston to flip his commitment soon.
even more interesting is that Blair Kiel seems out-of-control nowadays, so you would think Gunner's family wouldn't want to have anything to do with him: --In both 2003 and 2004, Blair Kiel was arrested when he violated a restraining order his ex-wife Joanne Kiel filed against him. He pleaded guilty to both charges in May 2005 and was sentenced to nearly a year of probation and community service and was told to complete an anger control assessment and counseling. --Sometime between 2004 and 2009, he was arrested for violating a restraining order that an ex-girlfriend filed against him --In 2009, he was arrested at a baseball game for charges of domestic battery, public intoxication, resisting law enforcement, and battery. His girlfriend Christy Rundle was found with her child in the bathroom, where she was crying and afraid to come out. The Police were called and found Kiel standing outside the bathroom waiting for her. Police said witnesses reported that Kiel had grabbed the woman’s arm and he appeared intoxicated, smelling of alcoholic beverages, and with bloodshot and glassy eyes. Police escorted Kiel toward the Maryland Street exit of the stadium and told him to leave for the night. However, Kiel was back inside the park a few minutes later and he was yelling at his girlfriend. Police said Kiel shoved an off-duty Indianapolis police officer who was working security at the game and told Kiel again to leave the park. Police said Kiel then fought with police, hitting an officer several times until police and stadium security could get him handcuffed. --In 2010, he was arrested for drunk driving, A breath test registered his blood-alcohol content level at .17, more than twice the level at which drivers are considered to be impaired Indy.com | Tagged: blair kiel | Indianapolis, Indiana
I think we've got some coaches at his home tonight? I really hope we land this guy. He could make the 2012 class special.
I honestly think he is ours. I have friends up in Indy who are big Irish fans and they say that when he decommitted from Indy, they knew for sure that he was a Notre Dame lock, but that right now, its pretty much accepted by everyone that Kiel is LSU's to lose. With the in-home visit last night, its solidified even more. Many think Vandy was thrown into the mix just to quell the suspicions that LSU had gained the lead.
:geaux: I could handle Gunner following right on the heel's of Mett, Randle and Rivers. QB would be the least of our worries if that scenario comes to pass. :LSU231:
