love the sour grapes at the bama site: "corndogs enjoying the guy who bama told no. Moral recruiting victory ahoy!!!" "Nope, the reason why Saban quit recruiting Kiel is because his ability wasn't up to his standards since his original offer was given. I saw Kiel several times this year, inlcuding the Mailbu QB Elite 11 competiiton, and the kid is not a certain success. In fact in Malibu, he was not even in the top 11 in the country." "Kiel broke down mentally and physically at this competition.......basicially, he sucked compared to almost all the other QB's in the competition...I'm not exaggerating this. He could not hit a pass......he wasn't that quick (in comparison to the other QB's there), he missed a lot of passes.....threw high a lot. Bounced many others. Got a bad attitude with the coaches. Now you know why Saban backed off? That's why......otherwise, Saban would have been all over it when Indy floundered." Their responses make me feel like Kiel's gonna be a good one.
LMAO! Any bets that the Bama leaning recruiting sites will change the number of points on Kiel now that he is committed to LSU? The premise of that last statement is that if "Saban would have been all over it" equates to an automatic signing for Bama. What I've read about the Kiel family is that they are pretty nice people. It could very well be that after meeting with or dealing with Saban, the Kiels came to the conclusion that they didn't want their son to play for a coach that screams at and throws his players under the bus when things don't go perfectly.
Yeah our coach would never throw a good kid under the bus, who contributes to them team and keeps his nose clean........
That's not the only ridiculous comment on the Bama forums. They are saying three star QB Alec Morris from Texas is the better player and prospect and the staff had no interest in Gunner Kiel. Also, there is mention on various boards that Gunner wasn't impressive at the Elite 11 camp -- you know the camp where Morris wasn't invited to attend because he wasn't deemed good enough. I'm less concerned how a kid reacts in a camp with players he doesn't know in a situation he's not familiar with and more how he ends up gelling with teammates, how he becomes a leader of them given he is the quarterback, and how well he works to develop a relationship with his offensive unit and staff. The championship team trophies aren't awarded for who performs best in shorts at a camp on the West Coast for a week.
Anyone remember that time Nick Saban had to choose between Daunte Culpepper and Drew Brees as QBs? The Bama fans could be 100% right about Nick Saban choosing not to recruit Kiel, and it wouldn't make the slightest difference to me. I trust Kragthorpe's QB evaluation/training a lot more than Saban's.
I couldn't agree more, Saban appears to be a defensive specialist, which is why we gotta get this kid Collins....seems he want's him badly. Just my 2 cents....
Check this out, Bro. It's not just the Bama fans. Found this on the Golden Domer Bleacher Report blog. The comments are kind of funny also. Notre Dame Football: Why Gunner Kiel to LSU Is a Good Thing for the Irish | Bleacher Report So: 1. Kiel is dishonorable (subtitled "How dare he celebrate Christmas with his family!"). 2. If (fill in over rated coach's name here) really wanted him, Kiel would have jumped at the opportunity to play for use instead of LSU. 3. Kiel is really not that good of a QB. Who knew that we are really just grabbing a castoff from every other top team? Wonder what their fan boards were humming with over the weekend.
They are Notre Dame and what the phuck have they won in the last 10 years none of these :crystal:. So phuck em and WELCOME GUNNER:tigereye:
