The key point Gundy made is that Bama should be #2 right now. He is doing it to emphasize that after OSU's 12th game, they will pass Bama.
Remember you said that. :hihi: PAC 10 and Big 10 fans aren't too crazy about "their" officials either. Point is, play enough games, it's bound to happen where calls are missed.
It's not their incompetence I'm worried about. If you thought the fix was in for Bama to get to the big game, imagine what these clowns would do to push them over the finish line.
That distinction really doesn't matter. Nick has already geared up the Bama PR machine, and Gundy hasn't even gotten out of the gate yet. He's out of his league here and doesn't seem to realize how much public politicking he needs to do to make his team's case to the voters.
while i agree with him on the "right now", and i caught that, he still needs to be talking up his team. next week is too late. he at the very least needs to throw in "very close" "triple overtime on the road". still plant seeds of doubt if they can be sewn. if he doesnt play the media spin game now, he will be too far behind the curve.
I don't think so. Trying to pump up OSU right now would only increase the attention on Bama. Nothing matters until Gundy beats Oklahoma. THEN, he has platform to speak from and will be heard. Nobody will be talking about Bama after that big win.
OU losing to Baylor basically killed OSU's chances to pass Bama. if they beat OU at home people will say "Who cares OU lost to Baylor and Texas Tech IMHO Bama really is the 2nd best team in the nation and the ONLY team that could legitimately beat LSU right now. Everyone knows that including Saban and Miles. I saw bring em on. If LSU manages to win again it will go down as the greatest season in CF history (Some say) Why not, beat them again to validate the win in the regular season.
i think he could set it up. he doesnt have to say osu is better now, but he could plant seeds for if osu beats ou. things like triple overtime on the road. mimimize their loss. kinda like "unbeaten in regulation". by the time of the sec championship game in 07, les had said that so many times, the talking heads were parroting it back. he didnt say we were the best, he minimized the losses.
I agree. He could at least be saying, "I FEEL we control our destiny and if we take care of our business I believe the system will make the best choice." Or something along the lines of at least a possibility with a hint of deserving. Anything but throwing his team under the bus. Some man. :hihi:
But there are a few in the media pumping up the fact that OSU has beaten more ranked teams, is in effect playing for a conference championship and therefore is deserving of consideration as #2 and Gundy is pulling the rug out from under them by proclaiming Bama as #2. :LSU231:
