Look guys, I still live here. It's no different than any other city in various states... you have good areas, bad areas, and areas that you shouldn't even fly over LOL. But just because something happens in a tiny part of a city doesn't mean the whole city has gone to hell. At any rate... BR is still as good a place to live as some other cities, depending on which part you're standing in. Although, I do agree with the sentiment that BR became NO after Katrina.
Translation: "I live here and I have to take up for my city....but you're right, it has gotten to be pretty dangerous."
Real translation: North of campus is dangerous, and north BR in general is dangerous. None of which is news for anybody who's lived here for the last 20 years.
Look, I have been thinking about this at work and I guess there may be reasons why the police department waited over two and a half months to bring a shooting crime to the "Charges filed" state. For example, the players who were victims (Mett and Montgomery) may have said "no big deal...we don't want to press charges." or something else. So, my post was a little reactionary and emotional. I think the police need to do their work thoroughly and our timetables are off the radar. If Jefferson and others have been lying to police...well...that will come out and be dealt with. I commented that the police better be right in regards to the search warrant executed on Jefferson's apartment...because if not, it's looking like a witch hunt (whether it really is or not). like everyone else, I don't know.
it seems like quite a coincidence that this story came to light so soon after the bar brawl. perhaps the players are saying behind closed doors that when the guy at the bar threatened pulling out a gun, they flipped out after what happened earlier in the summer. not at all what i personally believe, it doesn't explain anything. just food for thought.
