Exactly, how many south bama kids he recruited would accept a bama offer no matter who was recruiting them? Helps Tennessee, doesn't hurt Bama much.

They arent spending as much as you think. They have both Kiffins and Orgeron for less than we are paying Miles. No doubt Tennessee's payroll is high but I think we are close to them as the highest in the SEC. Plus, I think we started a trend with the multi-year contract deal for position coaches.

Well someone's got to pay the price if Tennessee becomes a perennial top 5 team in recruiting. They won't get there by recruiting mostly the state of Tennessee, that's for damn sure.

They will constantly need 12-14 out of state studs to fill out a top 5 class.

Probably all of them. Big Bama area except there are a few Auburn fans in Prichard, but Bama got B.J. Scott out of there.

That was my point, probably wouldn't change their recruiting class at all.

actually, that deal started with miles when he went to oklahoma state. that was one of his stipulations for taking the hc position there. multi-year contracts and higher pay for assistants. i believe that was the first time for multi-year contracts for assts anywhere. I will say miles seems to know he is only as good as the people he surrounds himself with. and has always seemed to do what it takes to get good assistants. i really believe that the whole co-dc thing and it not working was a fluke mistake and that clm will be back to getting the best he can for assts.

I agree they are now stacked with salesmen. However they need a product to sell and Tennessee hasn't been a hot commodity lately. Just because they load up on recruiters doesn't mean they are going to turn the recruiting world upside down. The recruiters still have to sell Kiffin and I'm definitely not sold on him. It definitely will not hurt Tennessee to get so many good recruiters but how much it will help is yet to be seen.

Maybe not this year, but lets not forget guys like Jamarcuss Russell, Chevis Jackson, Sidell Corley, and Phelon Jones, players that we have pulled out of Mobile. We didn't get anybody from the area last year, possibly because of Johnson. This is good for LSU.

    Maybe...

Regardless they have no in-state talent and the neighboring states with talent have Nick Saban, Butch Davis and Mark Richt recruiting them. Mississippi also has good connections with oos schools like LSU and Alabama.

They'll do as well as you can for being in Tennessee, I guess. But they will be limited by their state's talent.
