It really all depends on which LSU offense shows up. If the offense that can move the ball and score shows up, the Defense will feed off of it and make things really tough for the Bama offense. On the otherhand, if the LSU offense that that goes 3-out everytime shows up, the defense will get gassed, and bama will pull away in the second half ... probably cover the spread by half time. I just hope like hell that CLM had the wisdom to sit down and rewatch those NCG game films from January. Saban implemented a completely different game plan against LSU in the NCG than he did in the first game. Saban figured out that he couldn't run on LSU, but he could pass to the TEs all day long. Bama is going to score some points. Probably not as many as they score on other teams, but they will score some points. LSU is going to have score enough to take the W. Like I said, if the LSU offense that can move the ball comes out in the first Quarter and put some points on the board, the D will stiffen and prevent Bama from running away with it. May even pull the upset.
Bama had success to the H back, the TE remained in blocking schemes. Miles implemented a new game plan the second time around as well. On the option plays he had TE's blocking interior linebackers instead of the outside guys. That's one of the biggest reasons the option game didn't work.
You'll have to forgive LSU fans and our selective memory of the NCG. If they are like me, they have never re-watched a down of that hot mess.
No .. the game had Brad Smelley written all over it. Brad was in every series. http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/playbyplay?gameId=320090099&period=0
One of the most unfortunate surnames ever. His dad should've taken mom's maiden name, for goodness sake.
At first I thought this said they were favored by "9 ints." I was going to go put my life savings on LSU.
