I’m from the “Admiral/General for life” school. A good friend wrote an article for Naval Institute Proceedings exposing such. Regardless of left or right these very senior officers need to be apolitical to the grave. Sure, they can talk about strategy, tactics, capabilities all they want, but steer clear of anything political. The military MUST remain neutral.

And how inappropriate for him to attend when Obama is delivering a eulogy. Trump's presence at the funeral would be viewed negatively by the left and McCain's family. The day should be about McCain and ultimately it would end up being about Trump. That said, I did find it petty for the flags to come off half-mast after less than 48 hours. THAT shit was petty and Trump should realize that the building and the flagpole really belong to the People, not to him. As for those on the left calling for Trump's head because he only put out a short tweet.....I find it far more appalling for all these idiots who have hated on McCain, including Romney, to now wax philosophic about how great he was.
