Well guys its time for me to intervene. We went 13-0 one year before we were expected to compete for the title. We did this with average QB play. JJ won't get a shot at the next level. Lee might be a free agent. Lee was successful early because we protected him against mediocre defensive teams. Lee continued to throw off of his back foot game after game but had success because we were able to protect him. He was scared to get hit, but this did not become an issue early because he was rarely hit. Bama caused Lee to have the "deer in the headlights" look in game 1. So Miles pulled him in favor of JJ, who has never been an accurate passer his entire career. The only reason Miles should have put Lee in the NC game was to save his own a$$ from all of this critisism. He knew that Lee would have gotten run over because the OL was could not handle their front 4. Having said all of this, I still could not explain why he did not pull out all of the stops in a game for all of the marbles. Miles went down in flames because he didn't play Lee at least for one series.
I'll disagree with you on this one. The Plan that Saban implemented is probably the most difficult plan to defend there is. WVU ate our lunch on the same stategy, but didn't have the defense to stop our Offense. For that matter, as I've noted ... we could have ate Bama's defense up with the same plan as well .. but we don't even have those plays in our playbook. That whole game was pretty much a showcase of Bama's offense against our defense. Our defense did a dang good job of keeping Bama out of the endzone ... till the very end, when I'm sure they were pooped, given they had played 42 minutes of a 60 minute game. But .. I've enjoyed this season a whole lot better than the last two. I especially enjoyed the first 8 games and the AR game. The GA game ... not so much, even though we won. Ga was a premonition for me of what was to come in the NCG .. and I dreaded it ... cause I knew it was going to be 3-outs over and over again.
Thats going way to far IMO. None of us are happy, but I'll be damned if I can figure out who is most responsible for what happened. Better never happen again though.
