I agree with the poster above and I'm going to tell you why.
I hope I am wrong, I WILL GLADLY eat crow on this one.

I think the best coaches and programs in the SEC are Florida and Alabama followed by us.
CNS turned around LSU and probably would've won 2 championships if he would've stayed and he has already turned around Bama.
I don't see anyone in Atlanta other than Bama vs Fla.

I believe this is Nicks third year at Bama?
It took him a few years to make LSU a contender and I believe its taken him just 3 years, Bama is now ranked number 1 and 2 in various polls.
I know from experience that Nick's teams usually lose one game a year they
shouldn't  having said that I think this could be there year to win the SEC
    or the :crystal: or both.

You guys say what you will about what Bama has done in the past.
You guys aren't giving Nick Saban any credit for already turning that program
around from where it has been the last decade.
I understand why, I'm no Nick Saban fan but its going to happen probably sooner than later.

    i'm with the dude.

the first thing i thought of when i saw this thread is "what is guilbeau's agenda??"

what i seriously think it is, is that he thinks LSU will lose more than one game and therefore setting the bar higher than that so that Miles can look inadequate if we lose 3 or 4 games.

just cuz i'm paranoid doesn't mean i'm wrong.

Nick Saban's record while at LSU

Against UF 2-3 with 2 blowout losses
Against Bama 4-1 with a blowout, shutout loss

Les Miles' record while at LSU

Against UF 2-3 with one blowout loss
Against Bama 3-1 with one overtime loss

I guarandamnteeya the UF that Les Miles has faced is better than the one Saban had to face. Same goes for the Bama Les has had to face. The pre-Saban '05 Bama team came in undefeated at 10-0, until LSU beat them in overtime. The Bama team that beat us in OT last year was also 10-0 when we played them. UF has two of the last 3 NCs. Saban was busy getting blown out by the fighting Zooks.

I dont remember Saban getting blown out by Zook. I dont even think Saban was here except for 1 or 2 of the Zook years. Spurrier yes but never Zook and Florida was pretty damn stout under Spurrier.

Fair enough...Spurrier left UF after the '01 season...Saban's 2nd year. So Saban was 2-1 against the fighting Zooks. But nonetheless, Miles has done as well as...no, better than...anyone else against Meyer's UF.

Saban did not get blown out by Zook, but he did lose to him(our only loss in '03). Think Zook was only around for 3 years right? Meyer and Miles started in '05?

The day I joined this board! I remembering being accused by Jean Lafitte of being a green puke that day because I was so pissed at Saban. Damn, thats been a long time ago.

Yes, I have said many times that CLM's has done just as good if not better than Saban did with Saban's recruits.
I still think we would've won the 07 Championship if Saban was here.
Our defense would've been better under Saban that year.

However I am skeptical that CLM's is as good a coach and recruiter as Saban.
Like I've said lately, the jury is still out on how well Les does with his recruits.
Last year wasn't very good and this year can geaux either way, we will know something very soon!:)
If this year and last year is any indication, I don't think Les has done well with the offensive and defensive lines.
These positions were stacked and more dominant when Saban was here IMHO.
I hope Les and the Tigers prove me wrong the rest of the season.
I will be one happy fan!:thumb:

If you had one teacher in first grade, and then another teacher for the next 5 years, would you refer to your first grade teacher as the influence on your grade school years?

This argument is so hollow, even most of our rivals can't say it any more. Anyone who starts with this statement after all these years makes me absolutely :rofl::rofl:
