Torrey Pines is his home course. If that's where the US Open is held as well, him winning is as close to a given as there is. But, in the words of someone ho I don't know, 'That's why they play the games'.
There's always some yahoo who steps it up in a major to challenge Tiger then slides back into obscurity (Rich Beem comes to mind) but make no mistake. It's Tiger who will be staring him down in that final pairing.
I'll only glance at the tournament this afternoon because it's over before CBS even goes on the air. That & I can't stand the thought of listening to Nantz for 3 hours trying to fill air time with no meaningful golf action to describe.
he just hit one of those classic "Tiger" shots. He played from behind the green in basically a mud-puddle. The announcers said a great shot would be anything inside of 15 feet and he promptly put it within inches of the hole for a tap-in. He leads by 10 with 9 holes to play.
just to add perspective to those who don't understand just how much Tiger owns this course, he has FOURTEEN titles on this course. 6 tournament titles, a college title, and a slew of junior titles.
