Ill be back in Augusta for the first time in 11 years this year, I cant wait. I would absolutely love to see Tiger in Cali but I dont think I can pull that off. Obviously it will be difficult for him to win the slam, and it will be even more interesting to see the South Course setup for the Open. I don't think it will be as favorable for Tiger as most think. However, that still keeps him as the favorite.
South Course, North Course, Northeast Course, it's all mumbo-jumbo... Tiger and Phil are the only ones who will have a shot that week, imo. That is I think the best chance we'll get at seeing the long-coveted Sunday afternoon major showdown between them two.
Hard to imagine Tiger could top his 2000 performance of 9 wins and 3 majors, but he might exceed 9 if he plays enough this year. The slam is probably not in the cards, but if anyone can do it, it's Tiger. 3 majors is realistic, though. He his swinging really well these days and making it look really easy.
Physically and emotionally, Tiger is approaching his prime. Mentally, he's so far ahead it's frightening. The field knows that if Tiger brought his C game they might have a chance. Anything better than his C game and most of them know they're playing for second place. If Tiger ever gets his often erratic driver under control it's scary to think what he might accomplish. He's truly ina league of his own.
Simply put, he would never lose. It sounds silly to say that, but he seriously would never lose. He could win 15-20 times a year if that were to happen. I don't think it ever will, though.
it better get here fast. He looks to be taking a 9-shot lead into sunday. 10-shots if he chips in here. it's just not fair.
