In 1988 a friend called to say he had an extra ticket and did I want to go to the game. I would have gone but I wasn't home and those were the days before cell phones so I didn't get the message until I got home. By then it was too late to go. It rained really hard that whole game and Miami beat LSU 44-3. I was never so glad to miss a game in my life.
That was my freshman year, and I absolutely would've been there, but I sprained my bad knee the Thursday night before, while dancing at Heartbreak (destined to become The Gold Club). So, I watched it at my parents' house, instead. Thankfully.
