Gregg Williams reinstated by NFL, hired by Titans

Less than a year after he was suspended indefinitely for orchestrating the Saints’ bounty program, Gregg Williams is back in the NFL.
The Titans announced today that they have hired Williams, and that the league office has confirmed to the team that he has been reinstated and is welcome to return.

Titans owner Bud Adams has some clout. Goodell first got involved with the NFL in the 80's as a 22-year-old intern right out of college. Adams has been owner of the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans franchise since 1960 (he and the owner of the Bills are the only surviving members of the eight original owners of AFL franchises). Adams, along with fellow Texas oilman Lamar Hunt (founder and longtime owner of the Dallas Texans/Kansas City Chiefs), were the two big figures behind the creation of the AFL (the press conference the two had to announce the formation of the new league was held in Adams' boardroom). Goddell's first big job was assistant to Hunt when Hunt was president of the AFC

Very interesting. Do you think Gregg's reinstatement was a direct result of Adams' intervention?

I like it as it again demonstrates the commissioner is a jackass. It also shows his decision wasn't based on player safety but to cover the NFL by pretending to care. He just wants to protect the financial interests of the owners.

Although he said we won't recoup our 2nd round pick, I would like to see this decision (reinstatement) throw fuel on the fire to demand the return of the pick.

This guy's ego is unreal. He should be in the oval office. :D
