Because none of them are the 2nd leading rushers in the history of the strongest conference in CFB.;) (Plus I never saw him play...much less in person)

The old farts played both ways and were on the field the whole game. Today's specialists couldn't have played then.

Yeah, I am actually a supporter of the old school guys. I think if they had weight lifting and roids like todays guys they could have easily competed. ;)

I cant see Big Herm going both ways.

the one thing I remember about faulk @ LSU is his punt returns. Ive never seen someone more patient during a return. He never left his blockers and often times was right on top of them having to push them into tacklers.

I was always thinking what the hell are you doing, RUN!

but of course it usually was a thing of beauty. still havent seen anyone as patient to this day in college. maybe not pro.

People often forget that Billy Cannon was also a starting linebacker and one of the best to ever play at LSU. At 205 pounds he was a big back for his day and he was heavier than every lineman on the White Team except for one, who was 210.

Jimmy Taylor. Why his number has not been retired I will never know.

The heaviest lineman on the White Team was 210? My how things have changed.

My favorite thing about Faulk was the games when at halftime he had, say 12 carries for 40 yards and everyone thought he was having a bad night and then he would break the big one(s) and finish the game with 150+.

I don't know the stats, but the game against Houston comes to mind.

Did you click the link to the video in post #1? That game is mentioned...and I believe yardage is given.

I remember that game well...had to listen to it on radio.:cuss: But he absolutely took over that game in the second half...carried the team to a 35-34 victory...if I'm not mistaken about the score.
