Nope. Unlike a lot of schools LSU doesn't hand out retired numbers. Just one in football, to a Heisman winner and National Champion. Just three in basketball, each among the top-50 players of all time. I'm a huge Kevin Faulk fan, but Casanova, Cavanaugh, and Tinsley are National College Hall-of-Famers who haven't had jerseys retired. Faulk doesn't walk in those shoes yet.
Red, just enjoy the video...or don't. I wasn't bringing it up for debate...and I said, IMHO. How many of them are the #2 rushers in SEC history...and are working on their 4th SB ring? And as far as Heismans go...I would say Faulk has a better reputation than our 1 Heisman winner off the field.
That's what I remember about Kevin Faulk, he left nothing on the field, always gave it his all. If we are talking about "greatest", you also have to put Y A Title and Jim Taylor on the list.
Why is it that discussions on this list about the "greatest" LSU football players fail to mention one of the truly all-time great college and pro football players to have passed through LSU's portals: Steve Van Buren?
