Football: Defense: Derrick Thomas (a bad, bad man)
Football: Offense: LaDainian Tomlinson (a little early but I think he will be... and if his career hadn't been ended early by injury... I'm sure Terrell Davis would have been my choice)

Baseball: Infield: Cal Ripken, Jr. (Pete's character knocks him down on my list)
Baseball: Outfield: Mickey Mantle (should have been Griffey, but he could never stay healthy, but he is my all time favorite player)
Baseball: Pitcher: Bob Gibson (never gets enough respect)

    Basketball: Guard: Jordan
    Basketball: Forward: Dr. J
    Basketball: Center: Chamberlain

    Hockey: Center: The Great One
Hockey: Wing: Gordie Howe / Bobby Hull
    Hockey: Goalie: Patrick Roy
    Hockey: Defense: Bobby Orr

I disagree- the greatest wrestler of all time has to be Ric Flair.

He won his first world title in 1981, and his 16th in 2000. Flair had title reigns that lasted 16 months, 26 months, 15 months and 14 months. He is currently 59 yrs old and is still an active wrestler.

Stone Cold had a great 5 or 6 year run, but Ric Flair was at or near the top for almost 20 years.

instead of longevity and wrestling skills you should thank acting coaches and hgh.

baseball---ruth-because he was dominant as a pitcher and hitter

football---thorpe-because he led Carlisle to NC, played both ways and didnt wear a helmet

basketball---olajuwan. more skilled offensively and defensively than jordan, just as clutch (except in college) and never had a pippen.

GOOD pick here. Hakeem doesn't get the credit he deserves imo. He was EASILY the best center of his era. He did have Clyde Drexler for one of his titles though. And not only did he have A pippen, he had THE Pippen for a lil while.

there's no doubt the Dream was a great, great player...

But I don't buy that he "didn't have a Pippen."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_50_Greatest_Players

    Drexler is in there.

I don't mean to hijack the thread at all.

But who from this list was omitted and who should be taken out to add the new guy in? This should be fun.

Edit: Try to refrain from adding guys like LeBron, CP3, etc...

You have to remember this list was made 5-6 years ago.
