    I'd go for Billy Cannon, the only Heisman winner LSU has had. I saw him twice, as a kid at the '58 and '59 Ole Miss games.

    Went to school when Pistol Pete and Tommy Cassanova were playing and saw them many times. They are Place and Show IMHO.:eek:ldskule:

    You are referring to the Burger King on St Charles that gave out free fries anytime the Jazz scored 110 points or more in a game. :grin: I think?

    Actually, it was any Burger King in the New Orleans area. But yes, 110 points = free french fries.

    (Hot Rod Huntley still echoes in my head: "Pistol Pete...hippity hops..top of the key...shoots...SCORES!!! FREE FRIES!!! FREE FRIES!!!")

    I still scream "FREE FRIES" at every Hornets game I attend. It's become a tradition and gets a few chuckles from the elders around me.:thumb:.
