For some reason, I think that if Greg Olsen is available at #27, the Saints take him. Then I wouldn't be surprised to see them go after either of the Buster Davis fellas in the 2nd.

Kiper had JR as the #4 choice. What a jerk.

Thomas to Cleveland. The first surprise. I figured something was up when Cleveland had not announced their choice with 5 minutes left on the clock.

Saints get the receiver they wanted. Great first round pick.

4.4 speed which complements Colston's possession receiver ability perfectly. Now teams have to contend with both Henderson and Meachem beating them deep.

    This offense just got better.

Alleman as the 3rd round pick excellent as well. We get depth at G that we sorely needed. Looks like he will contend for the starting spot with Nesbit. Wouldn't be surprised to see him win it.

Usama Young runs a 4.39. Has great ability, tested great at his pro day at Kent St. Just needs to learn the position better. Perfect fit to learn under McKenzie for the last 2 years of his career as a Saint.

Saints 3 for 3 in solid picks. And we also add a high 5th round pick to the mix. Me like.

I agree, very solid 1st day. However, I think they could have got Usama in the 4th but I trust Payton. I look for the Saints to grab a DT and a TE in the 4th, a LB and a QB or OL in the 5th, and a QB or OL in the 6th. I am hoping to pick up Troy Smith if availible in the 4th or David Irons.

Saints will undoubtedly pick TE Ben Patrick from Delaware or Martrez Milner from Georgia as it's first 4th round pick (unless they get snatched).

2nd pick could be DT Marcus Thomas from Florida, Paul Soliai from Utah
or Clifton Ryan from Michigan State. I hope they get Soliai, the biggest DT coming out at 334 lbs. Would love to see him and Hollis Thomas at a buffet.

I agree Smith and Irons would be solid picks as well. I think they will wait to get a QB as that high 5th they got from Detroit. And don't be surprised to see us take Jordan Palmer, if still available.

OLB should be addressed as the other 5th round pick.

And as our 7th round, I think we we go for more OL depth or a stab at another WR pick, ala Colston.

Or Troy Smith. Jaworski talked about how Smith plays a bit taller than his height, and should be a good back up in the league. Sometimes height can be misleading, when you consider a guy like David Carr, who's plenty tall, but practically throws from his hips.

Saints take RB antonio Pittman from Ohio St. I guess this is a value pick but I like the way the guy plays.

It makes about as much sense as the rest of thier draft. Trading up to get a guy we don't need at a position that is loaded.
