However I will be pulling for UVA from here on out as long as we don't meet again. just got back from the USM and UT game, that was a good game. Texas totally lucked up tonight. Had they played anyone else they would be in the losers bracket. USM got screwed with the tiny-assed strikezone (especially in the ninth when southern miss walked the winning run. Cargil looked good from where I was.). That brings me to a HUGE complaint I have with the CWS: hardly ANY replays on the screen in lf!!!!!

Absolutely. The last two pitches that were called balls were strikes. Texas was handed the game by the ump.

Yeah the last pitch was a ball, but I have to admit when the bottom of the ninth started there were some questionable calls at the plate. I remember thinking to myself that this game was going to end in the 9th because the umpire wanted it too.

yeah, but once the pitchers starts missing the edges of the zone, umps quit giving them the benfit of doubt. anything too close to call will go the other way.
always been like that at every level as long as I can remember.

A hard fought game by both squads. A bounce of the ball, a different call here or there, and just like many games the momentum swings differently. I wish the Hoo's good luck in their next game, they have earned my respect.

In other words, the strike zone changed.

yep. happens every game, nothing new.
if a pitcher is struggling, most umps won't give him anything on the edges of the zone.
if a pitcher is really on his stuff, plate gets a little wider for him.

Got the bottom of the ninth queued up on espn360. Want to count how many times Texas actually swung the bat. Will be interesting I think.
