we also need our 2 horses at tailback cleared of this crap. Johnny white has speed but just doesn't have all the qualities we need at the tb position. There were rumors going around about houston being cleared and playing last nite but they didn't come true. We burned 8 redshirts last nite for sp teams availability. Uh o I rambling now. Lol
not even close. UNC is ranked higher than we are, and should move even higher. and ole miss has the pleasure of the biggest upset, haha. lefire: UNC looked great. LSU looked bored, undisciplined, sloppy... quite frankly i am getting effing sick and tired of this sloppy, undisciplined play on the field that we have been seeing the last 3 or 4 seasons -- especially the last two. i don't care whose fault it is, it just needs to stop. it needs to get better this season. personal fouls and penalties and fumbles and piss-poor game planning are starting to make me sick to my stomach and it's becoming a disturbing trend. i feel good about the potential that our offense has this season. however, the coaches need to stop handicapping the players and call better games. i felt pessimistic about our offense after the washington game last season, but i feel the complete opposite this year!
hope you stick around. our rival posters are some of the most well informed fans anywhere and offer a great perspective. unfortunately we made the game interesting. i thought a penalty could/should have been called on the last pass play, but also thought the on sides kick should have penalized your guys. what do you think? great game and great effort by the tarheels.
Well on the onside kick it really threw me for a loop. I'm gunna assume the rule for allowing the athelete to field the ball before making contact is in place in that situation. I'm assuming now because i have never seen that happen before. The ball did not ravel 10 yards but your guy touched it first. However, he was knocked into the ball while trying to receive it. If the rules are as i think they are, it should have either been 1st and 10 LSU on the UNC 39, or a re-kick. As for the last play i thought it was PI but it wasn't blatent and its for all the marbles. You can't make that call. I thought the break up on the prior play was worse PI than the last play. That one was a great defensive play, but he got there early. I was in the opposite endzone and that video board was awful. Most of the action was at the other endzone all night. This whole investigation has depleted our depth as a unit. Last nite BD said we burned 8 redshirts to cover on special teams. This is devastating to program plans. Our inexperience in sp teams showed. It would have taken great coaching and focus for our regular sp teams to compete with you guys anytime, but last night was truely hard to watch. It looked like high school sp teams play. All 8 defenders we lost, started on sp teams. I did not even know this. BD said this in the press conference after the game. I knew about half did, but not all 8. You know you look out there and see the entire starting secondary missing and it's crazy. I can't remember something this drastic ever happening to a football team. I honestly believe if more pass plays down the field were called by you guys last nite, you'd be a much happier bunch.
I think that we will find out that on the onside kick, the interference would be a penalty, awarding the ball to LSU. But penalties cannot be called based on video evidence, only possession type questions. So the refs ended up only being able to check if the ball was touched by an LSU player first since it had not travelled 10 yards. Based on that, I predicted that the ball would be awarded to UNC, and I was correct. The Heels should be proud of their effort last night. They showed a lot of character by staying the game when it must have looked very bleak. Some fans of both teams left at the third qtr break, and if Yates completes that last pass, they would all be kicking themselves today. Good luck with the rest of the season. GEAUX TIGERS
